He told me they got the transmission out and found that a vent tube was melted from the cat of the aftermarket exhaust. He said this may have caused the transmission to overheat and fail!
So they are blaming the down-pipes causing heat melting a tube? Crap , just had downpipes installed, maybe I should have had them wrapped. Did you take any preventative measures after your ordeal?

You didn't have tune installed at time of trans taking a powder?
