Good morning! Just joined, bought my 2021 Rapid Red Explorer ST over a week ago and I'm loving it! Under just about to hit 40k miles. Besides standard maintenance, what should be looked at around the 40k mark? Also, I joined a couple Facebook groups recently and they say things break on the ST left and right. Is it really that bad or we just hearing from hot-rodders with bad experiences lol
Anyway, happy to be here!

Welcome to the forum! The Explorer gets a bad rap here. People tend to post about issue and not good luck. There are a lot of people on here who have had no issues with their vehicles. I don't care what vehicle you have and who makes it, there are going to be problems with some of them. Having said that, there are some common problem though. Some recalls as well. AWD module, Front Speed Sensor, Front Struts, Differentials, Exhaust Crack, to name a few issues some people have issues with. Your 21 should have seen all the recalls by now. But read through the forum and you'll find a lot of good information from some really knowledgable people!

The FB groups are full of whiners and trolls who rarely post a good thing about these cars. These cars can be reliable, just some may have problems. Nothing really abnormal to do at your mileage, only thing I would do is a transmission flush, as the food usually is pretty low. Congrats and welcome to the forum!
