I'm also having the issues on a 2020 ST that is no longer under warranty. Any advice for what my next steps should be with no warranty? Sign up for extended warranty now? Anything I can do on my own without dealership?
What have you tried so far?

Update to verson 23188 and problems usually get solved. Might need a factor reset as well.

I’ve tried updating SYNC with a USB, but the process never completes. I’ve also tried resetting it, but with no success.

Did you do a hard reset or a soft reset?

Ive tried the reset from the SYNC menu and I've unhooked the battery for 24 hours to try to reset that way. Is there another way I should try?

Most of the time, the factory GPS shows me driving across lakes and fields, with the GPS signal icon crossed out in red. Apple CarPlay will occasionally fail to connect, and the entire entertainment system randomly locks up and freezes. I can’t get the car to connect to the internet, no matter what I try, and FordPass no longer connects. I’ve also had instances where the entire screen turns blue, or the GPS section is blacked out.

Ford sent out a bad update that tanked mine too. I couldn't update to new software version etc. Really stupid on Ford's part. I went round and round with Detroit and the IT Dept. Long story short it tanked the APIM module. I told Ford's IT Dept. they wrecked it with the garbage update. They said no we didn't, sure enough here comes a recall notice. They did wreck it. My dealer replaced it and all good, I disabled the auto updates.

Are you still under warranty? I received a recall notice on it too in August. It's Customer Satisfaction Program 24B47. I would think you're covered under this too. My Dealer tried for 2 days to update with new software version and they couldn't do it, all they got was error codes.

Okay, so it sounds like your APIM is trashed.... You'll have to have a new one installed and programmed to the car and latested updates loaded. not sure how much it will cost out of warranty but i do think the blue screen of death might be covered under a recall but someone here can correct me if im wrong. if that is correct, the APIM might be covered under that recall b/c its what controls everything.
