All
i am asking for a few with 2025s ST to do a little forscan test and evaluation
it is in the area of (fake engine noise and Active noise cancellation) but in the 2025s its named propulsion noise??
anyway,
if you can read this and then post back your AS built codes under the respective ACM and DSP
as well as make the below changes and provide feedback on whether it worked or not, and which radio system you have, 12 speaker, 14 etc.
AND AS ALWAYS, BACK UP YOU AS BUILT FILES prior to making changes and even write them down so you can revert as needed.
all changes are made at your own risk.
you can download your AS BUILT files at https://www.fordserviceinfo.com/ , you will need to use your ford owner login or create one if you do not have one presently
a hint on the as built files is to PRINT THE PAGE TO A PDF, or similiar, as adobe will not open the download sometimes
VINS must entered in CAPS
we all can benefit, and I or nightshade will add them to the common page on the 25 explorer spreadsheet

Test VIN has this in the as built below

AS BUILT 727-01-02 0000 9204 00C7 2 =disabled • ANC Disabled • ESEPS Enabled • MSS Disabled
CHANGES 727-01-02 xxxx x*xx xx-- select 4 =CC Disabled • ANC Enabled • ESEPS Disabled • MSS Disabled

DSP 783

as built test unit 783-01-01 0492 0 = R Reserved • APIM Do not log missing APIM messages • R Reserved • ANCPS ANC not present

783-01-01 *xxx xx-- change the * to 3 =R Reserved • APIM Do not log missing APIM messages • R Reserved • ANCPS ANC present

i am hoping this turns off the propulsion noise, but leaves the Active noise cancellation enabled

thank you
edited 17 oct 24 to correct the dsp code to 783-01-01

My as-built matches those you posted.

727-01-02 0000 9204 00C7
783-01-01 5801 00E5
783-03-01 0492

Did you mean to post 783-03-01? Or should both of those have been 783-01-01? That key seems to match your description better.

If so, you are saying to change the stock value of 5 to a 2?

5 = R Reserved • APIM Log Missing APIM messages • R Reserved • ANCPS ANC present

2 = R Reserved • APIM Do not log missing APIM messages • R Reserved • ANCPS ANC not present

Also, what is the most objective way to measure whether the change was successful? Does the sound come out of all speakers? Maybe putting a microphone right up against a speaker for before/after runs.

yes, 783-01-01 vice 03 -01 thanks for catching it, after a while the numbers run together

for me the best way to notice of sound changed is with a sound meter app that shows Decibels
its not super scientific but the loss of certain noise is noticeable

thank you for your diligence

Can you explain what this change does?

783-01-01 0492 (0 = R Reserved • APIM Do not log missing APIM messages • R Reserved • ANCPS ANC not present)
783-01-01 2492 (2 = R Reserved • APIM Do not log missing APIM messages • R Reserved • ANCPS ANC not present)

Both descriptions are the same.

Yes my blind ass typed a 2
thats what get juggling to many items at a time
i need a few weeks off i think
i apologize , good thing it was not a nuclear code
It should be a 3 if acm is turned off

you turned off the propulsion in the ACM
3 to keep active noise control on. But i have no data to support that is factually what happens.
until some people do it and test
there is an issue with b and o sound processor if you turn off engine noise it cancels the active noise control
what makes it even more AFU, is i have looked at 6 as built files from 6 Vins and 4 are different in the dsp settings
ford did some as built file changes i assume after a certain build date, but i have not determined why ??

me not having a 25 makes it very difficult to get accurate results.
my side kick nightshade is due a 25 any day and hopefully he can be a test guy over and over

I changed my as built:

ACM > 727-01-02 0000 9204 00C7................. 2 = CC Disabled • ANC Disabled • ESEPS Enabled • MSS Disabled

to:

ACM > 727-01-02 0000 9404 00C7...................4 = CC Disabled • ANC Enabled • ESEPS Disabled • MSS Disabled

But did not change this as-built:

DSP > 783-01-01 5801 00E5.............................5 = R Reserved • APIM Log Missing APIM messages • R Reserved • ANCPS ANC present

Because it already shows ANC present, and I don't see a better option to choose.

I did a before/after sound recording of a WOT 0-60 run, on the exact same section of road, windows up, holding my phone in front of my face, sport mode, TC-off.

I'm going to call this "no significant change".

I will try it this afternoon when I get off work.

I have also been looking through both spreadsheets and validating previous changes from the 20-24 Explorers and getting the correct values for the 25s. Should there be a separate post for us 25+ guys or just keep it within the original forscan post? I have no problem being a guinea pig for some of these as I have a lot of experience on my 2019 F150.

Mine is a 9/24 Build

727-01-02 0000 9204 00C7
783-01-01 5801 00E5

Changed only
727-01-02 to 0000 9404 00C7 as well. Gonna drive it for a couple days and see, but mine has a Thermal 3" on it and it basically has the same sound so it covers the old fake noise.

I noticed a change. I have no way of proving it's off, but my "calibrated ears" don't hear the engine noise from the front anymore, just the exhaust sound from the back

It's right in my post. The cabin sounds didn't change significantly. I measured with a microphone.

You could use a sound level recording app to prove it, like I did. Otherwise, it might just be confirmation bias.

Yes, I am planning on doing this change once my Vlinker FS arrives.

Keep us posted @powerboatr on the testing with Nightshade and the 2025 ST.
I bought mine last month and I want to turn off the piped in engine noise, but I am not seeing a source yet that has confirmed the right change in the acm.
Above it seems that the testing was either negative or unnoticeable (which I take to be a negative). To me it is very noticeable with the piped in noise, so I would think it would be very noticeable when it is gone.

Yes it's proving to be difficult
Without taking away active noise canceling

I will try out some testing this weekend, here are some things I have tried with varied success while rooting around in the spreadsheets. I posted this in another thread, but figured it would be better here since its for a 25.

Only change would be 726-43-01 keep it as x1x1. Although the Ambers look cool at night with the headlights you loose all turn signal functionality. Luckily I noticed before I went for a drive.

The spreadsheet you shared says that you got the FENG to stop. Do you still have ANC? Has anything else been disabled with this change?

Has anyone else tried skylercolwell’s change?

The fake engine noise coming from the dash area appears to be off, I can only hear the exhaust from the rear (Thermal 3"). I have not noticed any more cabin noise or any outside noise than I did before when I am cruising. So to me the FENG seems to be off and the ANC is still on.

I can always put everything back to AB and see if it comes back on.
