Hey ladies and lads

new ST owner here, and looking to get some nice summer wheels for the the X. I don’t need $3000 dollar rims. Definitely looking to stay with a Black Rim i think.

please post up photos of your wheel set ups and please include wheel size, what kinda wheel, offset…..I’m no good when it comes to wheels and backspacing and offset and all that.

What size, diameter, are you going for?

I, like most that have 22" wheels, am running 22x10.5 et30. With the correct alignment, this will get you flush with the fender wells. 20221128_140333.jpg 20230303_175344.jpg 20221203_160655.jpg

The wheels are Vossen HF-7.

Something you might want to think about when choosing wheels, is tire availability and price for the size you are looking for. You aren't the first to discuss wheels and tires here. There is a lot of information on this forum about that. The "search" function is your friend.

@Cajun Heat those wheels look amazing too. How do you like the Yokohomas? In the snow?

Thanks @2020FordRaptor ! I have to say that I am loving the Yokohama's over the Michelins that were on there before. Wet handling and ride comfort is far superior but cornering is not as good, but not bad at all. This may be because of the taller side wall also. They also do not tramline like the Michelins. It was so bad that it felt like the 4-wheel alignment was off all the time. The Yoko's drive straight and true. No snow in Houston so can comment on that.

I have a set of 2014 edge sport 22x9's that I had modified to fit with 285/40/22 continentals.

I've liked these wheels ever since they came out back in 13 and I think they look a lot better than the oddball 21's that come on the ST

Taste is a very personal thing. I believe black wheels are where it's at and I prefer a gloss black.

I haven't seen a wheel I like any better on an ST than the black wheels that come on it. I know that isn't to many people's tastes.

Yeah... if they were 5 lbs. lighter and available in a 22" version they would be better. They also need a black center cap and lug nuts. These wheels' real shortfall is their weight.

That said, I don't like snowflake spoke wheels (not even on the Bandit's T/A) and it has to be a pretty special double split-spoke wheel to get my attention.

I love the look of the stock rims but they are so dang hard to keep scratch free. The finish is super easy to scratch. Like @GearHead_1 said if they were 22”, lighter, and I would add durability and I would never think of replacing them.

Just got my 22X10.5 +30 Velgen VF10s wrapped in 305/40 Toyo Proxes ST3's today. This is the first round of the VF10 for the Explorer. Velgen said other finishes will be available in the next few months. This is at stock ride height but i have lethal springs to go on it soon sitting in the garage. Also have the Thermal 3" catback with black tips to spice up the rear. 1000006110.jpg 20240219_160804.jpg 20240219_160844.jpg 20240219_155824~2.jpg 20240219_155841~2.jpg 20240219_153333~2.jpg

I am curious to see a 2025 ST wheel on a 2020-2024 ST. Anyone planning on doing this? Maybe even having those wheels painted black.

With that setup it is rolling the dice whether they’ll rub slightly or not. If they rub, it’s usually not a big deal and it’s just on the fender liner at full lock.
