One of the benefits of plastic oil pans and cam covers is they don't transmit engine noises like metal does. Plastic can be molded to accept captured in place rubber gaskets also.

There is a metal pan made by FenFab that seems pretty good but personally I think $600 is kinda steep for what you are paying for it’s basically sheets of aluminum welded together. The PPE trans pan is made from basically the same amount of aluminum and it’s $200 less, even the Banks power oil pans for the trucks made from more aluminum and all the patents cost less money lol.

You’re comparing a low cost to build cast trans pan to a labor intensive hand fabricated oil pan that Brett not only machines, cuts, bends and welds every piece of in house but also took on all of the development costs. Of course his part costs more and rightfully so.

Nope plastic pans suck if they didn’t there wouldn’t be a leaking problem or the need to build a metal one and I fully expect someone to say something because there are fanboys to everything but hey if you like overpaying for a pretty basic product from someone who has a monopoly on it then so be it lol, my post was just to bring up that a metal pan exists but it’s overpriced nothing shitty about that just being brutally honest, if the pan was machined from a single piece of billet aluminum with cooling fins and maybe an NPT port then maybe I would think differently but you do you I guess
