Hi everyone, I’m looking for some insight here hopefully after a search didn’t quite get me answers. Both our key fobs for our ‘21 ST go dead in about two days after installing new batteries. I think I may be on to something as I’ve moved one from our kitchen(closet to vehicle in garage) to our bedroom. The one left in the kitchen is dead again, the one in the bedroom is still going. The weird thing is that this just started about a month ago, never had issues before. Thanks in advance.

Do you have a cover on it? Could possibly some of the buttons be stuck down although I would think your car would go crazy if any of them were:unsure:? I would think they would have to be transmitting something constantly for the battery to go down, but I would also think it would have to be the fob itself. Very strange indeed.

I've had that problem once. I think the new battery was not up to par. It was a Duracell that I got from Amazon--who knows, maybe counterfeit. I put another new one in and that is working no problem. I also stop putting the keys in my shirt pocket at work in case the keys accidentally depress the buttons and drain the battery.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. There are no covers on the fobs and they are stored on hooks on a key rack by our entrance door to the house. Also, replacement batteries have been quality battA bit of an update though, the one I’ve been keeping in the bedroom is still alive and kicking And the one on the hook by the door is still dying. I also purchased a third key fob and programmed it with my Xtool scan tablet and that one isn’t dying regardless of where we keep it. Finally, we haven’t put a battery back in the one that was dying in two days when on the key hook.
I still think the issue stems from a constant communication issue between the vehicle and key fob due to the close proximity but we will see how long the new key fob lasts, we are at 6 days now without issue.

Another thing you can try and I don't know the cost but you can try one of those faraday cage boxes that they sell to keep your keys in so people can't drive by your house and grab the signal from them and make duplicate keys. Just a thought.
