Safe Jack Points under the vehicle

Where's the best place to put jack stands on the front? I've looked at the underside and there just doesn't seem to be anywhere that just jumps out at me and says "place jackstand here" lol.

I’m following up on those folks who had issues at the dealership with the jack points bending/lifting the wrong point. How did you guys handle this situation and what did you pursue out of the dealer? Did you go through an insurance claim or something like that? Did you have to contact Ford about this? Etc
Unfortunately, I’m in the same situation and I’m looking for advice before moving forward.

If the dealer damaged the pinch welds or plastic trim around them and you can easily prove it just happened and they did it, then you go through the dealer. Tell them what happened and MAKE them fix it. It's not an insurance issue if the dealer did it. If the dealer won't fix their damage then you contact Ford Mo Co direct and go through them to force the dealer to fix it.

That’s what I did. At first they said it was nothing to worry about it. Then I explained how I just spend 60k on a vehicle and it should be in as good as or better condition when I pick it up than when I brought it in. I told him he could take care of it or I would find the most expensive guy to fix it and send him the bill. An hour later the jacking points looked great.

If I got a dime for everytime a dealer told me a concern I had was nothing to worry about.. . Vehicle dealerships rank right inline with lawyers for being the scum of the earth.

Local dealer has had to fix the welds twice so far. Next time I will leave them the pucks.

I have a set of the red color pucks and they work great.

Be careful. The dealer also tried to lift car on felt and just about crushed the fuel lines.

Dealer fixed the welds on both occasions. Used local body shop.

Had the dealer take an initial idea of what happened. Was promised to schedule a body shop appointment, so we'll see how that goes. Apparently though, they've bent at least 3 spots all the way around where the foot rail brackets (or whatever it's called) goes plus some other spots near the pinch weld. Sucks! You would think a dealership trains their employees on one of the most basic ways to handle a vehicle in a maintenance bay.
I wonder how common this really is, given the fact that only a few of us have realized the damage that has been done.
For example, I would have never known about it in a million years until I either found out while looking at something else (which is exactly what happened), or by getting informed by someone else, such as the fine folks here.
As far as I can see, this has been reported here and by others on Youtube, by dealerships. Do you guys think this is done intentionally to new cars? If yes, for what reason?!!
So many questions. A truly upsetting experience :mad:.

I'm calling this very common from LAZY and/or untrained dealership workers on the most basic task. If a pinch weld is bent too much - and it doesn't take much, the pinch weld will not fit in the slot in the factory jack to allow you to safely and properly lift your vehicle when needed (flat tire, etc.).

Tire places are no differen't. You need to have a good understanding with them before they even touch your vehicle to be sure they are aware of how to lift it correctly. Even then, its still a gamble. Of course, inspect it on site after the work is completed.
