New 2025 ST here....southern Ontario. 3 weeks old. Light came on last evening. Trying to get into dealership 2 days before Christmas. I'm out of town with it and about to head back home after Christmas. Pain in the ass.
Welcome to the forum.

Bought my 2025 ST July 30th…one of the first delivered. I have 7,700 miles and loved it until this week. Took it to the dealership on Monday for its first oil change and learned it has a leaking front transaxle. Yesterday, the PM/RP wrench showed up on screen and the app after a cold start. Drove it home 15 mins away and I can notice the loss of power. Felt like it was on economy mode. Went back out a couple of hours later and there was no more wrench or error message on app or screen. Dropped it off at the dealership this morning and they gave me a loaner (grateful). I’ll update you guys on the resolution. I was afraid of this happening because my ‘18 Limited w/90K miles gave me no issues when I traded it in, but I’ve always wanted an ST.

They just don’t make them like they used to. Quality Control from the Chicago factory has its own challenges resulting in the dealerships having to resolve the factory’s shortcomings thereby overwhelm their techs IMO. Reserving a loaner through the dealership takes weeks…overwhelmed or saving a $$?

Took delivery of my 2025 just two weeks ago after my beloved 2022 was totaled. Anyway, also just got the PM/RP wrench this AM for the first time also, with approx 350 miles on the vehicle. Fit and finish has always been an issue (crooked hood, paint blemishes, epoxy on the rear windows, etc.), but this + the fact my radio wouldn't work the other day all speaks to software and computers. Waiting for dealer to call back on appointments. My 2nd ST?! I know, you think I would have learned the first time - but I love the way it feels.

Wow, I had the epoxy on my rear window too. Still haven't gotten it all off. There are definitely QC issues from the factory.

Chicago Assembly for ST and Police versions. Notorious for being lowest quality in North America, but you do get the stronger frame.

Picked up 2025 ST less than 2 weeks ago. 300 miles and orange wrench and traction control error appeared yesterday along with "4 wheel drive fault service" message. Shut it off and restarted and codes were gone. Traction control symbol showed up again today and disappeared after restart. It's about 20 degrees so I wondered if it had something to do with the temp, but that doesn't make sense if it's a software issue. I live less than a mile from Ford World Headquarters, so I might just dump it on their front lawn. I kind of regret turning in the 2022 ST.

Have a code reader to see what stored code is sitting there? If you don't it seems Ford should have included one as standard equipment for us ST owners lol.

I don't have a code reader, but an Electrical Engineer friend at Ford is running my VIN today to see if the codes show up on their end. He'll let me know if it's a fluke or needs service.

So you are saying the codes are transmitted to Ford? It would be really easy for them to do with it being a IOT connected vehicle. That would also mean they know who tuned their ST's or even made changes with Forscan before you even take it to the dealer.

Boy does Ford seem to have problems writing and testing their software. Seems since at least 2020 they have been using customers to beta test their new updates

Yes, they can see error codes and can track changes. Error codes are allegedly supposed to show up in FordPass, but I don't show any. I suspect it will need to go to the dealer for a reflash. I waived the ridiculous $20/mo loaner option, so I hope they'll do pick up and delivery.

Hmm, you're in the freezing cold also. Still curious whether temp somehow causes issues. Keep us posted!

They’re scheduled to come out to my house to do the software update this afternoon.

When I was having the issue getting my transmission replaced, the service manager told me that Ford can remotely see everything you do if your connected to FordPass. I didn't believe him at first but I found out it's true.

I bought my ST 6days ago and still on my first tank of gas.

I love forums with lots of activity, you can learn a lot more than your dealership would ever teach you. If and when I get the dreaded CEL, I'll at least have an idea of what it likely is and know how to fix it.

I live in South FL, so considerably warmer than you guys. I'm curious if I'll get the same issue. My main worry is if it happens when my wife is by herself with our baby. We're a one car family, so I'll have no way to get to her. Yes, we have road side assistance....but still

I have a few questions:

For those of you with mods done, has the dealership said anything about them being the cause for the codes? And if so, have they tried balking with fixing it under warranty?

Does the car store the codes after you clear them for the dealership to see later?

Is there a way to tell if the car has had SSM 53116 performed, or is it only performed if code P0929 appears?

So that I don't have to do a reply to individual posts, just going to do a general reply to all, based on my experience. When you are under warranty, loaners are provided for free by the dealer and on the billing invoice that is transmitted to Ford, as they will reimburse the dealer. Roadside service is also included for free while under warranty, but you may have to wait for hours for them to show up as Ford only has contracts with certain towing companies. The dealer can see every CEL that has occurred on the vehicle and can tell if you cleared the code. The Sales department will even check for this when they appraise the vehicle for a trade in.
