Hi folks, let's see those 21" OEM wheel and tire set-ups? I have just purchased some Velgen 22" wheels with 305/35/22 tires and am going to convert the OEM 21" wheels to a winter set-up. What I am looking for is the biggest/best size tire that will fit the OEM 21" wheel w/out rubbing, etc. I am also lowered on H&R springs. I want to size up the tire to a little beefier look for the winter. Any help or tips are appreciated. Thanks!

The Michelin X-Ice Snow is a nice tire with a beefier look. A 305/40R21 will give you a wider tire while keeping the same height.

On a side note, wider winter tires generally means worse traction than narrower tires. Having said that, if you like the look, go for it. I run 295/40R22 Michelin all seasons and get good traction in anything but deeper snow. We don’t get much in Chicagoland anymore. Handles 6 inches fine.

This is true and you are correct, I appreciate the reminder - it is definitely a balance between style and function ;)
