Hey all, new here as of today. Read many threads here and finally took the plunge. Looks like many, many helpful and knowledgeable folks here so I'm looking forward to the interactions we'll have.

From all the threads I've read, here and around, it appears it is absolutely impossible to change the courtesy blinks on 20-23 explorers from 3 > "X" with Forscan because the "stalk" isn't upgraded. I presume the stalk is the lever for the blinker? Since 2020 explorers are 5 years old now and still no workaround has been found?

I did all the usual stuff on my 2020 F150 Limited which was a great find back in the day. Wish my 2023 Explorer ST was a little more accommodating in Forscan for all the stuff that can be done with the F150s.

But anyways, just bought me a TOPDON J2534 Passthru as well for FDRS. Its relatively inexpensive compared to others. Looking forward to see what I can tinker with with a 2 day sub to FDRS for $50 lol.. (Mainly just want to check for software/firmware updates to modules, programing, etc.)

I was wondering when someone would try that out. The main benefit I see besides the price is the device is configurable for multiple different car models. The Mongoose for Ford can't be used for anything but Ford or Mazda, as far as I'm aware.

And as far as know, TOPDON is a fairly good brand. It will probably be awhile before I do anything with it (so I'll be past the 30 day return) but I remember to come back here after I use it, I'll report back. Not really wanting to do in depth stuff with it (unless someone wants to spot me the extended license cost :D) because I am sure I can mess stuff up pretty bad, but I like to keep things up to date, and this lets me do updates without having to go to the dealer at $50 a pop for two days of use time, I'm all for it.

EDIT: At the time of my purchase, the programmer also came with a $40 off coupon. Couldn't pass that up...:)

You can change the number of blinks with Forscan.

Where? No spreadsheets show the module SCCM where the f150's store it. I have a 2023 ST.

If you can point me in the right direction that would be awesome.

Not really trying to sound ungrateful here, but if you respond in this matter and don't want to follow through when I ask where do you find the information to do so, it sounds like you posted just to increase your post count. I am really hoping this is not the case. If you can point me in the right direction on how to accomplish this with a 2023 ST, I would be extremely grateful as every post I am reading says its not possible with my year unless someone savvy has figured out a way (maybe through FRDS even, which I have a passthru j2534 programmer).

I have read multiple posts about how its impossible, but maybe, just maybe someone found a way.

You replied with "You can do it with forscan", and nothing else. I asked where (and gave you a few days to respond before I asked again), you never responded. It took a call-out to get you to respond, then you respond with "kiss my ass with the post count", bragged you give way more than you take (which doesn't appear to be the case in my case).

If you're as knowledgeable as you think you are, you should have easily been able to point me to a link (that I haven't found in all the forums, threads and posts I have searched). If you didn't want to elaborate, you could have just skimmed by instead of posting what you did (which in most forums is posting to increase post count which now I'm convinced that's what it was)

If you want to be helpful, be helpful.

I’m not your personal tour guide. I don’t owe you a plate of cold piss…and you’ll damn sure never get anything from me again.

Ok that's fine. Why even respond in the first place? You could have just drove on by in the first place if you can't truly be as helpful as you think you are.

With your attitude if I had it written down in front of me I’d burn the paper and tell you to **** off. I don’t give half a shit if you figure it out…go buy your little plug in box.

I fail to see that I have the attitude but I'll just leave you to your obvious personal issues. You have a wonderful and blessed day.

Unbroken is one of the most informative people on this forum, I'm sure it's more on the line of people asking the same question over and over again. He has his own build with how to do everything to a T on here. While he may not have given you the information you want, it doesn't mean that it is not on here, it took me two weeks to find what I was looking for so it can be a little time consuming, which I understand is annoying. There are facebook groups dedicated to forscan so you may have better luck there.

Don't take it personal. He is very knowledgeable but it's just the way he is. According to this post by @Nightshade, it IS NOT possible on the 2020-2024 models:
@BrooseDaMoose is correct. You can change it on 2025+ Explorers but for 2020-2024, you can’t. This is because the stalk being used in these models is outdated and there’s no values to change for it.
I also searched until I read the post stating it wasn't possible. Can someone clarify?

At this point I'm going to agree to disagree on him being informative. I planned to keep my search up but it looks like it is impossible as I stated in my original post. If he is that informative (and maybe actually read my post) , he would have known it was impossible, not "you can do it in forscan".

I just hope in my search, I find the savvy guy that figured it out.

But thank you for the positive response! I appreciate that!

That's sad. I, on the other hand, will help someone if they need help, regardless if I am just repeating myself over to another person with the same question/problem.

What is sad is that you came on this forum. And got pissed off because @UNBROKEN did not do the search needed for you. Who have you helped here so far? He has helped many persons. So you might want to rethink your opinion.
