Somewhere under 1,000 miles, we noticed a loud rattle in the dash at low speeds. It ended up being a manufacturing defect in the dash material that had separated and was making the noise. We then had a loud rattle in the undercarriage at low speeds on any uneven surfaces. Next was the hands-free phone static during calls. Then the left window washer stopped working. The St has been at the dealership for 15 weeks. Ford wanted to order a new dash and have in installed at the dealerships body shop. I said we did not want a car with 2,000 miles with a replace dash. After 8 weeks, Ford declined the repurchase. I called several times trying to get the case re-opened and finally they agreed. After 15 weeks, Ford agreed to buy back the car. This process is in motion this week.
Ford has offered us a $1,500 cash to apply to another Ford. We really like the ST, however, after reading so many posts regarding issues with the 2025, we are hesitant to get another one. There seems to be a lot of electrical issues the 2025 year as well as other problems. I read Ford has an increase of $800 million in warranty claims in 2024 from the previous year. The direction of Ford is going the wrong way.

If you look at any vehicle that is redesigned or refreshed, it is going to have problems, look at what has happened to Jeep and Toyota. Ford I paying out more warranty claims because they are redesigning and refreshing a lot of their vehicles and no one can’t seem to get quality under perfect control. Sucks, but just the way vehicles are these days.

I would have stood my ground too on that one. I had a 2020 with no problems. I have a 2023 with minimal problems. Only problem was Ford tanked the stereo with a bad over the air update they wouldn't admit at the time, service bulletin came out later. Had that whole screen replaced, and shut off automatic over the air updates. It works perfect, and no need to fix what's not broken.

I'm following this 2025 closely and when my lease is up on the 2023 then I'll decide on a new one. No way should this refresh have so many problems imo. Ford has paid out big with warranty claims. They should slow down in the beginning, focus on quality control, and save big on the back end. Good luck with your decision...

I agree with 2020FordRaptor. This is my 2nd Ford in my life and I have always been a Mopar dude. When the first year redesign chargers came out they were plagued with problems and would eventually be resolved over the years. I had zero issues with my 22 Explorer ST but my 25 has almost every problem that fellow members have complained about minus the dash rattle. I love my ST and I bought it knowing that there will be problems. Only thing I regret is not getting Grey or Black.

2nd that on the first year of redesigns, and not just Fords. Usually best to get the year after the redesign, or at least a late production first year. My dad bought an early production 1995 Mercury Mystique and it was plagued with recalls and issues. By mid-year Ford made some changes to remedy some of the issues. My 2020 ST is a mid/late year production model which I bought used. I've read the first 2020 models were also plagued with problems. My Carfax was very clean, mainly just a catalytic converter replacement, and a one owner. Figured if it had a lot of issues the owner would not have kept it so long, so probably a good one. Only issue I've dealt with since I've got it was the defroster grid coming off of the rear glass, which I've read was a common 2020/2021 problem.

Some of your issues I can understand, such as the dash and entertainment system/phone since they are new designs. But things like the windshield washer or drive train should not have changed any if at all, so you would think the bugs would be worked out. But stuff still happens, and a bolt of two may not have been tightened properly. Don't know if you can wait till the 2026 models come out. Most bugs should be taken care of by then, and hopefully Ford improves their quality control.
