I absolutely love magnaflow, I run them a lot on my vehicles, as quality is great and it’s always subtle and not obnoxious sounding IMO. Anyway, magnaflow finally put their video out and order info for their ST catback.... I think it sounds great, but it’s also very quiet, and is it it really worth $1700 just for the catback, when it doesn’t seem to be a huge upgrade over stock..... I wish they had a before and after video so I can judge the audio from their camera, sode
By side. Thoughts ?

Catbacks are mainly for sound. So if it brings out the right sounds and is the volume you want, it probably will have a market.

That’s an arguable point. The Borla and Corsa kits that are either oem size or retain the oem mid pipe surely are for sound only. The Magnaflow and Thermal kits that are 2.5” could see a slight gain especially if paired with the SPD downpipes.
The SPD DP’s and a full 3” system will definitely show gains.

My wife calls me wolf boy. Went to get my hearing checked and my hearing was at least ten to twenty percent better than average hearing. The doctor said you will never need a hearing aide. Given that I have decent hearing however this video, to me, sounds very close to the Fake Engine Noise Generator sound that I have not heard since installing the Borla S-Type exhaust on my Explorer St. It is probably the sound I would be more comfortable with versus "the getting louder by the day Borla S-Type exhaust" I currently have installed. That is why I may add some small resonators yet to tone down the interior volume of the Borla S-type especially on part throttle acceleration.

Compare stock and Magnaflow below:

Very disappointed in the price. Even with the typical markdown from MSRP at most speed shops, that is still going to be something like $1400.
Ugh...

~$200 more than Borla and it includes midpipes. Less than Corsa and still includes midpipes.
They’re all too high but in comparison to the others it’s not out of line for what you get.
