Bought a used 2020 ST 9 days ago. (Tech package and street pack- 9k miles) Absolutely love it. BUT....I drive it the day after I get it and notice that the digital speedometer is showing the dial and needle but does not show the numerical digits of the mph. When on cruise control the small digits appear, but the large digits in the middle of the dial are not there. Empty circle. I assume it's a setting. I look for an hour, get my 13 yr old son to look too (ha!). Bring it back to the dealership thinking it will be a quick few clicks and out. They try to figure it out for 2 days. Finally they say that they are going to replace the whole instrument cluster. Ordering the parts etc, will let me know about the expected time. I'm not feeling too good about it.

I'm going to call the sales manager today. This is the exact vehicle that I want.

What are my options that I should discuss? Buyback and purchase a new one? Holding my payments for the number of days/weeks that it takes to get it back?

If they fix the issue, then why is there still a problem? This is the exact reason for warranties.

I'm betting on software issue over hardware issue, did they check to make sure all the software updates were done to your ST. My New ST spent a full morning at the dealer to get software updates this past summer.

Yeah. Told me they did all the updates. Did everything to attempt to dignose the problem. Then decided to replace the entire instrument panel. Still waiting to find out when they will get the part. Frustrating.

5 days into the saga of the instrument cluster...panel was replaced. Digits of the speedometer were visible initially, then on subsequent test drives it disappeared again. This was Friday at 5pm...not able to get further info until Monday.
Drove the beast for 2 days, then it’s been in the shop for 7 days. Frustrated to say the least.
Spoke to the sales manager on Friday about buy back and purchasing a new 2021. Says he’s going to put some numbers together and get back with me on Monday.

Doesn't your dealer have a 10 days 150 miles return policy? Why does this have to be a buyback? you should just be able to return it and reverse everything.

They said that they "reprogrammed" the NEW instrument display again. Initially, it took 4 hours which is way longer than he has ever experienced. It worked for a bit then stopped. On monday, they reprogrammed it (I have no idea what that means exactly)...but it only took an hour or so and worked perfectly. I have had it for 2 days and it's working seemlessly.

At least they fixed it, peace of mind. I also was Not aware that they had to reprogram the instrument cluster separately, I thought it was part of the whole module.
