What I like about my ST

Since there's a thread about what we don't like about our ST, I just thought that I would like to hear what you do look like about your ST.

I have already heard some of the things that have been problems for you and things you just don't like. Let's try to keep those over in the other thread

So I'll start by saying that I researched and really did my homework for quite a few months ( drove Caddy, Bmw, Lincoln, Buick, ) read 100s of reviews , so I decided that this vehicle was that I wanted.

I have had many cars over my 7+ decades and haven't owned a perfect one yet.

I thought the MKC was, but after owning it for a while I figured out that I had purchased too small for my 6'3", 250lb body.

Which brings me to my first like....

1.The interior size , entering and exiting is really what it should be. Very easy. Right height, opening is wide enough.

2. Once inside I find it very spacious , as a driver, shoulder room, head room, leg room and distance to reach the steering wheel is very comfortable.

Now I'm gonna stop right here, and will give some more later on, but you get the idea.
Maybe I'm missing something else to like that trips your trigger .
I've only had mine 4 days , so I'll be elaborating more.

I agree with you on the roominess. Overall, we have been very happy with the vehicle (4,000 miles of travel). I get quite a bit of compliments on the vehicle......which was surprising to me as my other car is a C7 Z06 and I'm used to attention for that car. I think it is a very nicely designed SUV overall. Of course my biggest compliment to the platform thus far is the unexpected performance aspect. This thing does not drive like a 4800# soccer mom vehicle. The added H&R springs, Steeda swaybar and 93 tune has made it even more enjoyable.

#3 for me.

I'm so impressed with the ride ( solid , but not harsh), cabin quietness ( conversation is easy) at any speed , the handling is somewhere between in my Vette and my Ram 2500 , slight toward Vette. Very impressed with 5000 lb handling.

Here is the list that I can think of right at the top of my head

Awesome Performance/Power
10 Speed trans makes it so smooth to cruise at 80+ miles/hour without high engine revs
Cabin Quietness
Good Handling
Descent miles per gallon considering the HP on this one
Pretty good audio for a factory setup
Good storage space
Love Wireless charging (for now till I change my phone and see if that fits)
Ground clearance comparing to the previous Gen Exp
ST Badge
Front LED Turn Indicators
360 Camera view

Will add more to this if I remember anything after my next drive.

I just went for a grocery pickup run to Walmart .
About 15 miles each way.

Love the auto lift gate, and all the space in the cargo are. Did I mention I love the electric 3rd row power fold down seats.
On my way home , it started to sprinkle rain..love them rain sensing wipers.

I really think the sound system is not bad either. Crank that baby up.

I've had rain-sensing wipers since my 2010 MKZ and I really can't imagine not having them. When I drive my work vehicle I'm annoyed having to remember to turn on the wipers. Also, once you have adaptive cruise control and get used to it, driving with standard cruise is nearly impossible! A new feature for me with the 2020 Explorer I love and can't live without is auto-hold. Gotta be careful not to roll forward driving a car without the feature! I love using the front camera/360 camera to avoid curbing my wheels. So far so good! After a year I have not scratched any of my rims.

The Lincoln MKC had all those options.
Never have another vehicle without them.

I absolutely love the lane centering. Makes driving effortless.

i really like the growl from the motor , and the power response when I want it.
I just feel like it has pent up power and wants to go.

I let it go a little sometime.

I have 2 kids so one of my favorite feature is that I can unlock/lock the car with rear door handles. Usually only see this on high luxury cars.

The other thing which i don't see anyone mention is the Key fob. With my Nissan and Dodge key fobs, it's hard to reach in and unlock, lock, or remote start without taking the key out. With Ford having the lock button indented in, it is easy to figure out where the rest of the buttons are without taking the key out of the pocket.

Love the electronic parking brake. I always put the parking brake on so it's nice not having to hear that manual parking brake noise every time i turn off the car.

Love the power folding mirrors, use it everyday.

#7 for me.

I was just gonna say handy it is having the folding mirrors, because this ST is wider than the MKC was.
With the Vette in the garage I gotta be a little more accurate going into garage , so folding the mirrors in really helps along with the front alerts to the front closeness.

But this ST is surprising a lot of people.
It hots hp. Its exhilarating to push down quickly and feel that big hp.
Second , I'm really impressed with what Ford did with the stopping, braking system. The brakes are so easy to push , not grabby, but are so firm ,and , stop this 5000 # truck so ..... precisely, without effort .
Nice braking system.

When you get the chance, go to one of the Explorer Experience events. Pushing one of their ST's hard is even more fun than doing it with your own.

From what I read, they have had them in Asheville North Carolina and Park City, Utah. I’m only 50 miles from Park City but I’ll have to wait until they can give me a VIN number. I’ve read some people have gotten the number about a month after they’ve ordered. I’d like to be that lucky.
