I've been saying this since I started looking at the STs. Can't believe they don't have them stock.

Another option would be MRT. Do we have any Michigan ST owners in here? See email from MRT below if you can make this happen.

We would love to have MRT hoodstruts for the 2020 Explorer ST -- we just need to get our hands on a vehicle first so we can test fitment and ensure functionality meets our quality objectives. Are you local to the Plymouth, MI area? If so, we'd be happy to work with you on a design assessment. Let me know!

Ordered mine yesterday...
Nice, I’m waiting on MRT direct bolt on. If not I’ll go with redline. let me know how the installation goes. The guy in the vid makes it look easy.

A buddy of mine owns a body shop and he's going to have his guys install them. I sent him the video and asked that he make sure the holes are prepped/painted before installation...that was my only concern.

I’m looking to do this next. Really don’t like the current setup. For being over $63K you think it would come with some already installed on it. Here is the link below and how to video.

That is an excellent find! How is this not standard on a $60K vehicle? Just upsetting Ford didn’t provide this already.

This is something I plan on getting after I run out of things to buy. Maybe I just don’t spend a lot of time under hood or I just have too many other things I want to do to the vehicle before drilling holes. :censored: I don’t like how it blocks a lot of the side access to the engine compartment. I had to do work on the battery recently, that would be a nuisance to reach around (ha) the QuickLift to access the battery compartment.

But this is a far better solution over the current setup.

So I decided to going with redline. Mine will come in tomorrow. Super fast shipping. Well if you think about it if you need to work on either side and if you need more room the struts it self pop off with a little bit of pressure. That was my logic that I came up with. Thought about the same thing.

Be sure to send us a before and after picture. Don’t forget to tell us which hiccup mistakes not to make. I’m leaning towards this now that I’ve been fixing my battery so much.

FYI, tried ordering mine online, but there was an issue with shipping, so I contacted them. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! They took care of everything and my struts were shipped within 15 min of our phone conversation. Looking forward to them!

Only hiccup was I had the wrong type on drill bit. Make sure you get one that won’t break. Aka not a wood drill bit. Also get a two hand rivet tool. Forgot to take pictures will on my lunch break.

I like it very much. Just have reservations about drilling into the hood.

Are they on the same angle? Looks funny in the pic!

I thought the same thing when I saw the picture. But I think it must be the angle of the photo.

Looks good. Why isn't this standard on all vehicles today? Another item to put on my list.

there are sheet metal differences in the engine bay that doesn't allow a direct install.
