I was finally able to schedule an appointment to get the ceramic coating applied. I went with the Level 1 Paint Correction and the Atri Pro Graphene Oxide Coating w/ the 7 year warranty. What do ya’ll think?

I think I’m envious. Still trying to find someone to coat mine. Would you reveal the cost?

$1250 was the total cost which I thought was acceptable. Now that it’s done, it was well worth it.

my favorite part of ceramic coating is that it makes the paint always look "wet" -- looking sharp

I agree! It actually rained about 2 hours before this picture and my Explorer was dry like it never rained.

What do you do if you get a scratch? Can you buff it out or will that ruin the ceramic coating in that area? Also, what about when it starts to fade away? I've heard that it starts to "peel".

I am debating whether I should do it or not. My car is garage kept and I always keep my vehicles clean.

I have the exact same ‘21 (bought new). Same color. Is it possible to do ceramic coating on a 3yr+ car?

I've had two vehicles coated, my current 2023 ST, and my previous explorer which was a 2019 sport. I'll never have a vehicle again that I don't get coated. Well worth the money to have it done. I have a buddy I work with who has a detail business on the side. He does about one vehicle a week, one vehicle takes him 3-4 days to correct and coat, he's a perfectionist. He gives me a break on the price but if I had to I'd pay what you paid.

Good to know… thanks. (And does that mean you don’t even have to wax for some time after? I live in vegas… so 115+ temps 4mo/yr)

I got a little door scuff while in a parking lot and I took it to where I had mine done and they got it out. They had to reapply the coating to the entire door.

When I was shopping around to have mine done I asked this question most said it's because the vehicle was not prepped correctly or they used a cheap coating. Know what they do before the coating and ask which coating they use. I did mine about a year ago and it still looks great. It took two days to do it though. So, be ready to give up your ride for a few days.

I use a product he gave me as a booster every few months. Mine stays in the garage so it's not out in the weather everyday. When I wash the vehicle it's usually with a waterless wash in a spray bottle. When it has a lot of dirt i'll do a traditional wash. Biggest thing to protect the coating is to always use good microfiber cloths for everything and never ever go to one of those car washes with the brushes. Use good quality car shampoo when washing, no dish soap, get a bucket with dirt guard and if one of your microfibers touches the ground don't use it on the vehicle until you wash it. When you was your microfibers use cold water and dry them on low temp so you don't melt the fibers.

Dealer where I get service usually gives a "free wash" after service so I always make sure to tell them do not wash it, I also have a tag that I hang on the rearview mirror that says "Do Not Wash." Once it's coated most dirt will hose right off. When driving in the rain the water just gets blown off the car.

Sorry I rambled on with a lot more than you asked but after spending all that money I'd hate to see you mess up that coating. Lots of good products and you can find all kinds of info on youtube about proper care. A coating won't protect against chips from rocks or debris.
