I just put a deposit down on a new 2022 Explorer ST, Forged Green, 401a, tech package, street package. It oughta be real nice. Delivery is set for "soon" (vague, eh?). Is there anything specifically I need to look for when taking delivery? Any regrets yall have, like " I should have...". Thanks for any heads up. Great to be here with yall, and look forward to being involved.

Inspect your ST like a hawk! Seriously. Spend 20 min at least by yourself or with family members. Make sure no defects.

I hope you have better success actually getting yours than I have. I ordered mine 8 Jan 22 (pretty much loaded minus just the moon roof and rear entertainment center). It got built (so the tracking page says) 14 March. And that's, the "end" of this story so far. It's never shipped. I get new updated estimates about every other week.....3-8 April should be at dealer....then 23-29 April at dealer....now today, just changed to....maybe....8 May at dealer. It's never shipped. Ford says it is "volume delays".

I've gone through two preapproved loans since this all began, today applying for my THIRD preapproved loan....and yes, each time....the interest rates have gone up. I think this time, towards the end of the 30 day window for this loan....if the ordered vehicle from 8 Jan still hasn't come in, I'll likely go looking to buy something else that is on a lot somewhere. Yea, I know....that can be hard to do now days, but I've just lost all faith in my vehicle ever getting here in the REASONALBE future. They just keep "moving the goalposts". Plus, we ordered an F350 last year. Once it did finally ship, it took a MONTH AND A HALF...to get here. It sat in a railyard in Atlanta for exactly one month. Again, the reason was "shipping delays". So even when this thing does ship ....some day......it could be a month or more before it gets here? I've lost faith and patience...........

And, my window sticker has changed. I'm one of the ones that won't be getting the rear environment controls and my rear seat heating. Yes, Ford claims they'll ship the parts for the dealer to fix that WITHIN A YEAR. But again, not sure I trust them on that. One week I noticed the window sticker changed and took $150 off for the missing rear heat control and heating. My MSRP actually changed. Then there's the 4 April decision I read that they will not include Navigation or the seat massage option.....due to chip shortages...and they have NO plan to "fix" that later. That information is per Ford Authority website.

So, I hope you have better success getting yours than I have. I might be removing my membership here in the coming weeks...as I might wind up (reluctantly) buying something else. I wanted a car back on 8 Jan....when I went into the dealer and ordered it. 8 May will mark 4 months later. And I probably STILL won't have that vehicle. And I'm told .....since I'm racking up miles on my current vehicle....of course....not only have the interest rates on my loan risen three times (as of TODAY), but my trade in estimate on the deal/contract I got from the dealer.....that too will also be affected negatively by the long delay....as in ....my trade in will likely be worth less now also. So even if the vehicle does come in and I still buy it....I'll be paying more interest....therefore more monthly for the car...and ....POSSIBLY more overall due to the decreased trade in value (that MAY not happen....as my payoff of course, has been going down on my trade in....the ONLY silver lining in this whole mess!).

Sadly, so far....my ordering experience has NOT gone well....to say the least.............

Wow, I'm so sorry for your experience, I just got lucky, my dealership had this one on order already, just put a deposit down on it. We'll see if it actually arrives....Good Luck Amigo..

Got It !! The dealership experience was less than fun, seems they forgot the original deal we agreed upon when I put down the deposit, finance guy said "we can't do that". Had to get a lil loud and start to walk out. Amazing how they suddenly could do that! Anyhow, what a beauty, eh? MSRP + Ford extended warranty. Only 70 miles on it so far, all smiles here! (so far).

Yeah I’d walk. Get what you want. Search across states. I wouldn’t give up those features without them replacing all of them.
