All:

My 2022 ST was one that didn't come with the hands free hatch release. Does anyone know if it's possible to order the part(s) and install it later ? Even if you have to wait a while to get it or them.

Has anyone done this ? Was is worth it ?

I've had nothing but issues with my hands free sensor. Liftgate would open on its own unexpectedly. Ended up disconnecting the sensor altogether.

Ours was fine but what was funny is when I'd be putting a trailer hitch on it'd open the trunk and the tailgate would hit my head. That was turned off later. Otherwise then that I love it.

I think it would be expensive and you'd have to do ForScan or something to tell the Vehicle it has a tailgate sensor.

I am not sure if this is possible. You could see if there are any parts already installed for you. Looks like this thread might be a good way to see what you have already installed. https://www.explorerst.org/threads/...n-or-close-motion-feature-full-pictures.1938/

Additionally, to turn on the hands-free liftgate feature, you might be able to use FORSCAN to turn the feature on like it was original. Below is a picture of the setting that might make it work for you.

Little update.

I wanted to turn off my handsfree power liftgate so I 'disabled' the parameter in my above post and it did not successfully disable my handsfree power liftgate. I forgot to look in the menu for the power liftgate but the above parameter may be literal in the sense that it is just enabling and disabling the power liftgate option in the center stack infotainment menu. From what I hear, the menu in the center stack literally turns off the powered portion of the liftgate, so you must open it by hand which is a little tough.

Not sure what Power Liftgate Control does in my above picture either but I may play around with it some more when I get some time.

I have a 2022 ST that it was deleted on and would like to have it back I looked under bumper looks like all the antennas are there and a module so I pulled out the module It is printed Dummy right on it. So I removed one from a 2021 ST dealer stated uses the same module and it still did not work. I wonder if I would need to change as built data or turn on with FORSCAN as you are showing. Any help would be appreciated, I would like to have this feature reactivated, I had it on my 2021 ST and miss it.

I am looking to add the sensors to enable hands free lift gate on my 22 st. But yes, forscan shows it is Disabled. So add the sensors, then enable the module in forscan to make it work. Just adding the sensors won't work because the mode is disaed.
