Is there a way in Forscan to change the mirror(s) to auto-tilt in reverse? I would like to at least have the passenger side mirror tilt.

Also, is there a way (other than manually) to have the mirrors fold in on engine stop?

Can't answer the tilt question but mine auto fold when locking the vehicle. Maybe it was a setting somewhere? Owners manual not very specific.

There is a way to auto fold in the settings menu in your touch screen.

He is looking to have the mirror itself tilt down (ground/curb view). This was something my Jaguar XF would do in reverse if that setting was on.

He was also asking if there was a way to have the mirrors auto fold when the vehicle is shut off.

Our 2004 GMC Envoy did that and we found it useful. Maybe the addition of a rear camera and sensors makes Ford believe this isn’t necessary.

I always install a blind spot mirror on my passenger mirror in every vehicle. I find them so useful for seeing your blind spot but also for things like reversing into a parking spot. Or when you want to get as close as you can to the curb. I have my mirror itself angled a bit more upward and inward I have the added mirror to see a bit more downward and outward.

Not a direct solution to what you are looking for so I apologize but I think it gets you a bit closer to what you might be looking to do.

I have the reverse tilt as a option in my mirrors setting but I don’t recall if I enabled it in ForScan or not. It’s been a bit since I was last in there.

I just found this on the world wide web while looking into how to turn off door-ajar chime that annoys the living bejesus out of me. Since I just came across this I do not know if this is accurate but I found a reverse tilt section in it(with a warning). Also if you see the reverse tilt section, there are additional details about setting up the reverse tilt at the very bottom of the document as well.

Maybe it will help, who know! Good luck!

Ahh ok yeah I must have then. Only things I for sure remember doing is disabling FENG & dbl honk. Also I enabled fog lights to be on with DRLs but didn’t go full on Bambi mode.

It’s interesting because on one of those excel spreadsheets, it shows that feature not being available on the 6th gen.

Mind showing me a picture of the drls and fogs? I did plan on enabling Bambi mode and disable double honk. When I figure out how.

You don’t need to go through spreadsheets anymore. If you go in not as “Built As” all the options will be listed and you can just click “Enable or “Disable”. My subscription ended so I can’t show you in detail but I can kinda guide you as to where to go. I’m not sure how familiar you are with this so I’ll just go over basic start and steps.
- Open connect your OBD link or whichever you are using to your car. Then open Forscan. I used a laptop.
- Next in the bottom left hand corner there’s an icon you click to connect to your vehicle. Click on it.

- It’ll put up a reminder to have the Ignition in the ON position. Just click “OK”
- next it may ask you if want to optimize max performance of the obd adapter. I click “Yes”
- next if it’s your first time it will have you create a profile for your vehicle.
- after that’s done it’ll run a diagnostic and it should say “Ready” at the bottom.

- next do you see the 3rd icon up from the bottom on the left bar? It looks like a microchip. Click on that and it’ll pull up all the modules.
9B4027C6-2CA4-445D-96B3-35E660D9C650.jpeg
- Choose which module you want to look in and at the bottom left corner again there’s a “Play” looking icon, click on that to bring up a list of the options you can “Enable” or “Disable” for the module you want to look in.
- after enabling or disabling you’ll have to save the changes by clicking on a “Write” icon i think it was.
- After you do that it will prompt you to turn off the ignition and turn it back on.
- to disconnect look at the very top icon on the left bar it looks like a car. Click on that and at the bottom where you clicked the connect button, to the right of it is the disconnect icon. Done.

I can also see if I can find a YouTube video that can go into further detail then I did. I’ll try to remember to take a pic in the morning of DRL w/fog lights on.

This vid is from a F150 owner but if you watch his vid it’ll walk you through the steps which is pretty much the same process as it is it on the Explorer. Plus he’s kinda funny.

Thanks so much for your write up, that is very helpful. The one video I watched mentioned to do a backup so I will do that as well. Last question, what module includes the common changes such as disabling double honk, bambi etc.

I don’t recall which module it was in off the top of my head but I wanna say the Body Control Module (BdyCM). But if you go through all the individual modules everything will be listed and you just pick and choose.

I didn't enable this option but from the sounds of it, this looks to be what you are looking for.

Yes it does work…but, it actually is kinda annoying the way it does it. I thought it’d be nice for the passenger side mirror for reversing so I could see curbs when backing up. But instead, it tilts down and pans right so then I end up needing to adjust it anyways so I can see the curb. So even though I enabled it, I don’t use it. But that’s just my personal preference. Some1 else might think it’s awesome for backing into a garage or into a parking spot. In the end the 360 top view is what I use for parking. In the spreadsheet link Bosh posted earlier there’s a disclaimer saying “it’s not recommended because it requires re-calibrating” might be why it does what it does. Thx for that link btw Bosh. It’s helpful. It has a list of some of the more popular changes ppl like to make and it lists which Module to find it in.
