Anyone running a Thermal 3" having problems with the midpipes backing off of the stock downpipes? I've re-tightened several times, and most recently got it to the shop to have the bolt torqued to hell. The "nipple" on the stock downpipe is causing quite a bit of vibration when the pipes back off far enough.

Tech at the shop recommended cutting off that notch so that the clamp can be moved all the way forward. It looks like the aftermarket DPs don't have the notch anyways.

Thermal sent me a NEW set of midpipes after I engaged with them, I'm still deciding whether or not it's worth the time to get them put on. Seems unlikely that mine are defective, but I'm not sure what to do. Thoughts?

I don't want to state the obvious but you could always just tack-weld it.

Will absolutely do that if a simpler, less permanent method doesn't work.

just a small tack or 2 isnt really that permanent, honestly and it would resolve this issue easily. if you're tightening it down and its still moving then no matter how much, its going to keep creeping on you with vibration since there is no tactile "grip" for the pipe.

Posted on the FB group and it looks like several people are seeing the same problem. Definitely just going to have it tack welded so I can be done with it. Thanks!
