Anyone who attended the ST SUV Experience change out their badges for the blackout ST badges yet? How did you do it? What was your most successful method for lining up the rear badge properly?
Mark around the old badge with painters tape, pop the old badge off, clean off the tape residue with GooGone or an Eraser Wheel and slap the new one on.
I’m told GooGone is hard on the clear coat by paint techs, even in small areas of application. Not as hard as other removers, but I don’t want to cut the clear coat at all if I can help it. Road Salt in Ohio is brutal on paint.
It’s not rocket science. Mark around the old badge with painters tape, pop the old badge off, clean off the tape residue with GooGone or an Eraser Wheel and slap the new one on.[/QUOT
That’s bullshit. People have been using it for years with no bad effects. Just wash that spot off when you’re done and hit it with some quick detailer.
