Changed my cabin air filter today

Decided to changed the cabin filter today and it was soaking wet, and the carpet under the filter housing was wet also. I checked and it smelled, looked and tasted like plain water so it's not the heater core. Any idea how the water is getting in? I did have my windshield changed about a year ago, I'm thinking it might not have been sealed properly and that is where the water is getting in. Thoughts?

Check the plastic battery cover that mates with the windshield. It’s probably not snapped onto the bottom of the glass correctly. That’s the seal.

It’s a snap on piece of plastic. It’s either on or it’s off…all you have to do is look at the bottom of the glass to tell.

Well I checked that piece of plastic under the windshield and it wasn't snapped in place on the passenger side. So I snapped it back in place. My guess is when Safelite replaced my windshield, they didn't put it back correctly. If that's the case, I've been driving it around like that for about a year now.

Didn't you remove the battery though? Even if you didn't remove all that plastic cowl, it can pop out of place if you lift it to get the battery out.
