OK so I give up I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’ve had my ST sitting in front of the house for a week connected to my home Internet. I want to update the sync software,. to I believe with the latest which is 21191.
Going off memory I believe my current is 21154

I have updated a number of times in the past using a thumb drive but doing it this way it never updates the Ford servers with my update. And yes, I’ve uploaded the file that it produces many times. Therefore I want to try this update via Wi-Fi which people say works but I for the life of me. Can’t get it to work. What am I doing wrong?

My ST is always in range since I have an Eero access point in my garage. When I start it up and let it warm up for a couple of minutes, I select 'Check for Updates'. My wife gets in the car (and I act like I wasn't doing anything lol!) and we drive off on our errands, return home and go in the house leaving the ST in the garage. The next day when I get up at the crack-of-noon the Sync says it was updated to the latest version. I don't do anything special so I guess I'm pretty lucky!

And at what sync version are you at?

Who cares if Ford doesn't know what Sync vrrsion you are on? And turn off that connection to the home wifi and auto-update-/our batteries struggle as is without the power draw when off.

If something was sold as working the way it was supposed to work than I want it to work that way. It’s part of what I paid for.

And after it works the way it should than it’s my option to turn it off or not.

I honestly couldn’t give a rats ass if Ford knows what sync version I’m on. What I care about is if I get on the Ford site and search for if a new sync version was released it would be an easy compare to see. These days I can’t remember what address I live at let alone remember what version of sync is in the ST

Yeah if I don't have to go into the office I sign in at 6:30ish and enjoy my coffee until around 9:00, usually my first meeting is at 9:30. On weekends it's really bad, I don't go out until the sun is on the way down. Then I'm reachin' for the whiskey glass!
Yeah Orangevale is not too far, I could just head up I50 and get pretty close...that's if I haven't started drinkin' yet lol! Enjoy your ST!!

This whole Ford sync up update is just nothing but a pain in the fucking balls.
The current sync version in my car is 22251.
If I check my FordPass app it states that the current version in my car is 21194.
Then it states that the sync that is available currently is 23088.
I’ve tried to download it to a USB drive at least a half a dozen times and the only update that it downloads is the one that I currently have that I installed back in February which is 22251.
How the hell do I get to 23088
I’ve been building databases for a better part of 20 years. Never have I seen such a more fucked up system such as this Ford pass crap..

Just checked mine and Ford says I'm up to date with 23088. But my Explorer says I'm on 22251. So I have no idea as I'm not able to even try to download 23088.

I just got done with Ford chat. They are telling me my Explorer did an OTA update. And said that for it to show 23088 to do a key cycle. Well that did not change any thing. Going to give it a day or 2 before I do any more. You might try the OTA update if you can. At this point I don't know what else to try.

In the same boat as you. Was on with the chat site for about 45 minutes totally worthless. I did a few key cycles and nothing changed. I’m just trying to load this version of sync to USB drive and I cannot get it to download. The ford chat folks kept avoiding the question and wouldn’t give me an answer. Since I bought the explorer last November, I have never been able to get the Ford app to update to the version installed. I got over that as long as I was able to update it on my own and now I can’t even download the latest to my laptop.

I just download it three different Vin numbers for a 2022 Ford Explorer, ST And ran them through the sync software update, engine and received the same exact versions that are installed which is 3.4.21194 and they all show that the sink update available is 3.4.23088 but hell if I can download that version of sink for any of those vehicles.

I've been having intermittent Sync and screen problems the past month or so. I did a master reset and it made the screen move faster and eliminated some but not all of the issues. It still randomly tunes to AM or FM instead of the last Sirius channel I was tuned to. Also my number of preset pages and display backgrounds defaults to the standard settings. Also, sometimes the automatic updates gets turned off and Navigation history gets deleted. The worst thing that stopped happening after reset was the map only loading on the bottom half of the screen while the top half was blank. Hopefully this latest update will fixes these things and doesn't mess up other things.
