Per my dealer with an insider at the Chicago Plant...camera fixes arrive August 10th to install in the held vehicles. He is trying to pull a string or two to get it out of there! Build April 25th.

Success! We were able to pick up our new 2023 ST!

the only thing they did to satisfy the recall was performing the software update. No hardware was changed out.

Congrats.. Looks sharp..

I wish I had the roof rails from factory. I guess, I got the rear four bolts, without even thinking about it. Makes it even.

I was shopping for an explorer not knowing about the stop sale. I found a nice red ST Line, did my research, went to the dealership, drove the car, made my offer and it was sold to me on 6-3-2023 never even mentioning the stop sale
We first found out after one month of waiting for the Ford pass points to post to my wife's account
After many visits to the dealership and getting many different answers ( lies) the dealership manager comes out and says yes we sold you the car but we can't report it as sold to Ford yet!
So I am in a 2023 that was manufactured in February and have had zero issues with the 360 cameras.
I also got 36 month no interest financing.
Even Ford credit can't fathom how they sold us this stop sale car!
Anyway we are happy and when the first oil change comes due I'm telling them that it’s on the dealership since I can't use passpoints that they won't allow me to obtain!
Question, how are you making payments if they haven’t reported that it’s been sold?

Got a call from my dealers service department this afternoon and told me that they have a software to load into my car to "update" it due to a recall (for my 2020)..... offered to come to my house and do it tomorrow between 8-12noon, considering I haven't had a single issue with blue screens etc I turned it down, my luck they'll update something and it'll throw me into an issue, meanwhile still waiting for 2023.

Per ford…it can be reported sold(our loan is already on our credit file) & the loan will go through but the dealer can not mark the vehicle delivered…we are in the same boat. Thankfully our dealer is willing to make payments on the car until we can take delivery but still.

Would you be willing to let us know your dealers info so ours could figure out anything your dealer might know a work around to?

We picked up our 2023 ST today (8/9/23). Here is the deal according to our service manager. If you have already purchased the car and it is sitting on their lot, Ford will release the car to you with the temporary software update to get "YOUR" car off of the lot so you can drive it! This temporary update to the software is NOT the final fix but it allows you to drive your car until a fix can be installed. Also, I spoke with the dealership management and they believe Ford will cover the payments for the time the car sat at the dealership waiting for the fix. We will see but rest assured I will be looking for the three payments made on a car we did not have. I am currently checking for "bugs" left over in the temporary update and have found some stupid issues like the remote start works intermittently. Most likely the update brings with it some surprises they need to work out, but at least we can drive the damn thing. The bottom line is if you purchased the car your dealer should be able to release it to you. I hope this helps, please advise.

Rivertown Ford

there is a better post from someone that gave a better explanation of why some people can get their STs. Mine was already at the dealership and we literally signed paperwork on it the night before the recall. So ours was sitting at the dealership the whole time. We weren’t told that the software was a “bandaid” fix but really the screen is so awkward that the backup cam is almost unusable for me. I can’t see the backup image that well without leaning over. In my f150 it’s way bigger of an image. I understand the longer screen but there are better ways to fit those images on that screen. So definitely won’t be using the feature that caused all the hold up. Just my 2 cents.

I believe your dealer is correct. Ford gave me a check equal to 4 car payments due to our car being on the lot for 4 months.

Question, how are you making payments if they haven’t reported that it’s been sold?
Well the finance department seemed to get everything to go thru and we were ok with the . monthly payment's.etc. when my wife called Ford credit to inquire about this whole situation the person at Ford credit was actually astonished that it all went thru. We are set up on autopay and I am going that all is good not to f up my credit rating of 831.
The question back to the dealership manager is how my factory warranty is going to be affected. Deer in the headlights look back. So I'm riding miles as we can and then when this an issue we will address as such. This is very risky for the dealership but hey I got a good deal
Just wanted everyone to know they will sell a stop sale vehicle of they need to move a car. Hope everyone has success in their purchase

Can I bribe you and your insider to push my car through? Tired of having to rent something whenever I need to go somewhere with the family LOL

Mine told me before the update even released it that I will be waiting for the permanent fix. Guess it just depends on if the dealership is wanting to play is safe or take a risk because clearly none of them are getting communication from ford…
