I was mainly following the online tracker and then chatted online with Ford Canada and after giving vehicle info Ford confirmed delivery to dealership on Sept 4. They also mentioned it may take dealership a few days to do final inspection.
I've learned that the tracking website is quite buggy but one thing that you can trust on it is "date of last update". Every time that date changes something has happened. My explorer updated on Aug 14 which put it to in production, then it updated on Aug 25 and put it in built. It updated again on Aug 28 but the tracker threw it back to order confirmed. This seems to be a common issue with the tracker site, so i chatted with Ford online on Sept 1 and they confirmed delivery of Sept 4.
Thanks for those details. I agree, the tracker is inaccurate, but the date of last update at least signifies that "something" has happened lol. Mine is stuck on 7/24 but I got an email from Ford on 7/27 assuring me I would hear from them "at least once every 45 days." So maybe by 9/11 I'll get an updated-date-of-last-update... if only to assure me that I'll get re-updated in another 45 days
I hope they stay true to your timeline and it arrives at your dealership TOMORROW! If you get your Explorer as scheduled, it will definitely corroborate that the reason for the delay of pre-August builds is the 360 camera.
I've been shopping online inventory from nearby dealerships and looking at the window stickers of ST's that are in transit to their lots... they all have the 360 camera delete (credit $500) and reverse brake assist delete (credit $150) which is probably what your sticker looks like as well. I'm going to try to find one I can actually drive home. If I find one, I might abandon my build. I will have to spend more, but with the potential of my build not getting the permanent camera fix until 2024, I'm ready to trade money for time at this point. Already been waiting 5 months... I would kick myself if it ended up being another 5.
