Eibach Springs - Bump Stops or Wheel/Tire Combo

I just got through putting on aEibach lowering springs on my ST and installed a set of 20x10 20et wheels with 295/45/20 tires. I took it out for a ride and I feel like I’m either hitting the bump stop or I have a tire rubbing. I can’t just tell which one it is, but when going over bumps. it felt like the tire lost contact or rubbed against something.

I’m just wondering if anybody has H&R springs with the similar drop, if you had to trim your bump stops?

I’d hate to have to take apart my front end to realize it’s a tire / wheel offset issue and not suspension.

I may just have to throw my factory ST 20 wheels on and see if that issue is still present and that would let me know if the tire and wheel combo is causing the issue.

I'm sure pictures would help everyone see what was going on. I think most people on here are running 22's with a +30 offset. I am running 22x10.5 wheels with a +25 offset and 285 tires and have no issues. I am lowered on H&R springs. Is 20et a +20 offset?

Wheels are 20x10 with a 20mm offset. Not sure if the 295/45/20 are the issue. I have not got an alignment yet and not sure if it is a camber or caster issue upfront. Alignment is Monday.

I just want to eliminate the bump stops out of the equation. So don’t waste time and money on an alignment to have to rip it apart again

Did you trim your bump stops installing the H&R springs

There are guys on here that run 305's on a +30 offset so it wouldn't seem like the tires would be the issue. But like you mentioned, an easy way to tell is to put the stock setup back on and see if you get the same results.

I did not trim the bump stops when installing my springs

Looks good though!

I put eibach's on mine and I trimmed the bumpstops while I was in there. I didn't do it on my previous 21 with the steeda springs and it felt like it would hit the bumpstops occasionally. Since the eibach's have more drop than the steeda's, I made sure to trim them this time around. Oh and I'm running the factory 21s with 275/45/21 tires and have zero issues after lowering.

I put my factory 20 inch wheels and tires back on and drove the same road as I did this morning when I experienced issue. I could not replicate it with my factory tires on. I’m just wondering if the offset on these wheels is just a little too much and it’s contacting the inner fender when suspension compresses.

My guess is that it’s your tires. I installed the Eibachs 6 weeks ago and have had 0 issue. Have hit some bumps pretty damn hard too and it took them like a champ.

You can always grab a flash light and check out your wheel liners for contact..

Sparks81 here (CG Vet) Did you notice better handling once you lowered your ST? I'm considering Eibach as well. How was the ride qualify with Eibach? I could stand a littler stiffer ride myself. Are you planning to change out the sway bar by any chance?
