Unless you’re gonna tune it none of it will add any power and there’s zero reason to run catless downpipes. If you want the BOV or an exhaust system for some extra sound then have fun but that’s all they’re for.

There’s no performance difference between the high flow cats on the market and catless, plus all the cons of catless just make them not worth it. And…no reputable tuner will touch your car if they know and they definitely won’t turn off any CEL’s caused from no cats.

For daily driving catted downpipes are a must. The nauseating stench from all the cars missing catalytic converters is unbearable. Being stuck in traffic with a catless downpipe is worse than sitting in a porta potty on a hot summer day. It gets on all your clothes etc...

Please do not listen to these cornballs lol, I have owned multiple turbo vehicles including a 530whp stock motor ecoboost mustang. I have never in my entire life heard that a catted or high flow cat downpipe is better than a catless DP especially on the performance side of things. Unless some how the 3.0T ecoboost motor is completely different than the 4 other tubro cars I have owned. Anyway I have been tuned by 3 different tuners on different vehicles and once again I have never heard of a tuner not touching your car due to a catless DP but hey who knows. I will be trading in my M240I for an explorer ST here shortly and im 100000% going catless if it is on the market.......

Might need to get out more.

You are certain to gain a great deal of credibility and respect with a first post calling members cornballs.

Ford would be so proud. I'm sure they never even realized they made a 530 RWHP STOCK MOTOR Mustang.

These darn newbies claiming to be an expert and don't even own an Explorer. They sure put a foot or two in their mouth.

That's my observation based on my limited experience. If I'm wrong I will gladly admit it, that's what I've experienced.

Cons of a catless DP is boost creep and smell.. you cant tune out Boost creep.

There are pros for sure. but not an insane diffrerence. Catless downpipes increase engine power by making the turbo spin faster and creating a larger pressure difference for the turbochargers. This will gain additional horsepower without tuning. but not a big amount of HP
catless downpipes provide a straighter path for exhaust gases to escape, which can reduce airflow constraints.. meaning they'll flow better..

if you were to dyno the same turbo'd vehicle with the exact set up but one with catted dp and one without catted dp. you'll see a small difference in hp #s favoring the catless DP. very small difference, but a difference.
