Why are my wiper nuts losening up? I thought these were tightened and then crimped to prevent them from losening up? A couple months ago the drivers side came lose and I tightened it back up. About two weeks ago the passenger side quit working and I found the same thing, the nut had come lose. Today, the drivers side started wiping intermitently and finally quit. I checked and the nut was lose again! WTF! Should I put some Loctite on them? I was thinking of tightening them down and then just putting a drop of the blue Loctite on top to hold it.

I'd probably go find a Nyloc nut and replace the problem ones. You never know when you might need to pull the wiper arms.

Yea, that's a better idea! I can't believe I didn't think of that! Thanks!

If you do go with loctite. Go with the blue for low torque and just use a drop or 2 which is plenty.

It was a great idea but the black caps don't fit on the new nuts. :( Looks like I'm going with my original Loctite idea.

I thought this was going to be a thread about people enthusiastic about wipers.
