Metal in Oil at 50k Miles

The new pictures don’t look great, but prior photos look worse. IMHO and experience, it’s not normal. Metal does not belong in motor oil, especially at 50k miles. But, like others have said, an analysis will at least give you a little idea of what is in the oil, and if it’s in the normal...

After 45+ long days, it’s finally almost done. Received and agreed to settlement terms with Ford today. Apparently Ford thinks it’s 1975 and they physically mail everything from headquarters to the dealership here in CA. Ridiculous. Ultimately they’ve made me whole, and I’ll turn over the keys...

Quite amazing how fast Ford’s customer buy back has been. Received an email today from the person who’s processing the final part of this transaction. I supplied the required documentation. If Ford’s other customer service wings had been half this helpful, I probably wouldn’t have needed a...

Ford called today. Vehicle buyback has been approved. According to my case worker, I will receive a letter and call from Ford in the next 5 days to discuss the options for buyback.

At this point, with your warranty running out, I’d dig in with the dealership and ask them escalate your case. Worse case scenario, at least all this was fully documented before the warranty expired. Good luck, hope it resolves positively in your favor.

Thanks for the info. I actually sold my M1 last year for a number of reasons, one of which was actually the overall comfort of the front seats. Appreciate the advice, and while no final decision yet, leaning German or Japanese this time. (I’ve had 10 Mustangs, and that really just doesn’t fit...

Thank you. Appreciate it. The biggest bummer about this entire situation is I’m a life long Ford customer/enthusiast going back to 1987 when I bought my first car, a 1971 Mustang. I’ve owned 15 Fords , 8 purchased new from Ford dealerships. My last 2 have had significant QC and assembly issues...

Day 30. So I found out today a regional manager for Ford is finally involved in this process. She sent a request to the factory for the required parts to complete the repair. However, there has still not been a response or shipment date for the parts. (My personal feeling is this is too little...

Day 29 at the dealership. Confirmed with them today, still no date from Ford for parts. Tomorrow is day 30, and I’ll be contacting Ford to initiate the buyback process. After a lot of thought, and discussion with my wife, I’m out. I’m going to request my money back, and hit the reset button on...

Day 23 at the dealership. No ship date yet for the parts. This is about how I expected things to go. Called Ford Customer Service, as expected, no help. Reached out to Western Region manager, no response. Combined with the issues I had with my M1 before I sold it, I am rapidly losing faith in...

Thanks. Yeah, that’s my plan. My buddy is a sales manager there and got me a good deal on the car. He’s a good dude and has been trying to help. Of course there’s only so much he can do. Interestingly, I found out the dealership is actually okay if it ends up a lemon law car, because they get...

Day 17 at the dealership. Found out yesterday the wiring harness the car needs is on national back order with no projected delivery date. Of course this is not great news. Spoke to the sales GM in an effort to see what could be done, he spoke to the dealerships GM, who was not real receptive to...

So Day 11 at the dealer (14 Days total ownership) and they finally figured out the problem. Tail gate trim has been fixed for several days, but after replacing the speaker twice and not solving the problem, they began some deeper digging. Tech discovered a wire was pinched during assembly...
