Fog Light Tint Install Help

Hi,

I am trying to install tint film on the fog lights of my 24 Explorer St-Line.

I was wondering if anyone has done this and could offer some advice and pictures to help.

I am using the pre-cut kit from Lamin-X.

A little soap and water, or windex on the adhesive side, go slow and use a hair dryer and you'll be a pro at it.

I've heard that is the way to approach it.

The film comes with no guidelines specific to the installation. I'm the guy that if I can see it, the light bulb comes on. Dimly, but it comes on.

Thanks for the help. I have a heat gun. Sounds like I'll get to use it. I bought it a while back for this exact situation.

Like J368 said. Little soapy water and a heat is best way to go. Spray it liberal on the back so you can slide it around to get into place. The shape of the fogs is tricky...took me the longest to tint on the whole car. heat will help it shrink/stick into place. Don't be afraid to pull of restart if its not where you want it.

I did mine with Lamin-X also. BE CAREFUL WITH THE HEAT because it will melt fast! I used some warm water with a little bit of dawn and didn't even need to use heat. Just center it and then trim the excess. Here's how mine looks.

I can understand that. I'd like to do the tail lights, but I have to use my car for work. I'm the chief deputy coroner for my county. Between this and my 22 WRX, I already get enough grief. Yes, they're joking.

You wouldn't happen to have a close up picture of the finished product by any chance would you?

That is one awesome vehicle!! I love the striping? Did you do it yourself?

If I can ask, do you have the film covering the whole top of the lens?

Got to ask...at night are they better down low or about same being yellow

That is one awesome vehicle!! I love the striping? Did you do it yourself?

No, I just covered the front part of the lens. The striping was done at a shop.

Thanks.

I’m glad to hear you can cover the whole lens including the top. It sounds like I need to include some heat during the installation. I’ve tried before but couldn’t get the film to fold over and stick without any wrinkles.

Your lights look more rounded than mine. Mine are more squared.

I think it's the colored film vs the light smoke that I did.

Those both look very good

I tried the smoke and didn’t like it. I think the yellow pops and goes good with the green. I’ve got a lot of compliments.

Does the light out put look true yellow or more of a greenish/yellow with the white LED’s?
I did the Lamin-X yellow on a Jeep Rubicon I had with LED fogs and it looked greenish/yellow color.
I ended taken them off and put Lamin-X Amber color which looked pretty good.

Had the amber on my ranger. Lamin-X are a good company.
Their amber is the closest thing to SAE Amber floods or fogs. I'm really surprised people are using yellow.
Here is my Ranger with the Amber Floods in the bottom.
