Just installed the system from fordsync4.com. Cost is $2,200 for the kit.
Right now the Ford Pass does not work. Waiting for the company to help me program the APIM module to the VIN.
They did send a OBD2 USB reader.

I think the Screen and APIM module is from a 2024 Mustang. They did remove all the Part# off the Screen and Module.

It come with two wire for the screen. See picture in post #2.

Will add about 2 to 3" spacer to bring the Screen up. Its blocking the under tray and Start Button.

Pro:
Wireless iPhone Thing or Android auto

Cons:
AC vent knobs will be blocked. See Pictures.
No built in Nav. Cloud Connected Navigation cost $80 a year from Ford.
Ford Pass not working (Need to add my Vin to the APIM module)
Sirius XM not working (module not found) (Forscan did not fix it) (Im not an expert with Forscan)
Rear Camera not work. (Forscan did not fix it)
Radio Button not work.(Forscan did not fix it)
Changing the Time crash the system

Sorry but that’s just too big and out of place. Combine that with the things you listed that aren’t working and it’s a hard pass.

Well I’ll say it’s cool for someone to be the guinea pig on this, I know a lot of people were asking on the FB groups. Interesting to see all the problems, I can’t imagine there wouldn’t be any. Wondering if those will be ironed out, some like the Nav seem to be set in stone. How does CarPlay work and the Apple Nav?

Aren't Carplay and Apple Nav the same thing? I use Android so I'm not sure.

Maybe I missed something
But the vendor that sold that, is he a ford up. Fitter? Licensed by ford?

I think he is in China or ?
I emailed them a few times trying to get info
He did finally send a few pics, but his translations , gave me pause
I sure hope he works with you to fix it
The apim load may also be out of date, and if it's from a mustang...maybe he didnt re program it correctly

You cant pay for the connected nav. It is not required when putting Sync 4 in Sync 3 vehicles.

THe gateway modules are 100% different in sync 4 native vehicles. The Sync 4 APIM receives telematics via ethernet. There is no vin stored in any APIM. Vin is absorbed once its connected. You will never ever be able to update the sync 4 apim. You will not receive OTAs. The updates for SYNC 4 are way different than Sync 3. APIM part numbers are not really important. It only matters in native SYnc 4 vehicles. otherwise they are all the same outside 6 pin LVDS or 4pin.

Sync 4 is a great system in Native sync 4 vehicles. In non native it is a compromise. I have done Sync 4 in older F150 ad super duty and as long as you go in knowing what to expect then it can be good. I require a waiver of things to be acknowledged before ill ever ship one out. I do this so no one can say they werent aware.

The OEM Explorer Display options suck. Not sure why ford did what they did and the 25 eplorer is not sync 4 it is Google OS now and the APIM control sync and cluster.

I hope they get you sorted out but I dont think it will be much of an option for them. I could probably make some of it work but there will still be other issues. Even with me doing it there is about a 80% functionality versus native sync 4. Youll never get traffic or weather to work either. Those are all connected features through the TCU in sync 4. There is no Travel link option in programming for sync 4.

Can you help with my system?

I pulled the battery cable this morning. Now I can talk with the APIM.

I just want the following information to work.

Ford Pass not working
Sirius XM not working
Rear Camera not work
Radio Button not work

Another con to app to the list. Changing the Time crash the system. Pull the battery cable to reboot the system.

I added an 1.25" space on the screen bracket. Look much better.
