I may be dreaming but I thought the "Remote Start" in all my previous Ford's would also turn on the seat and steering wheel heater IF the weather was cold (based on my AUTO settings). Now, my ride does turn it on but only after I get in the car and push the start button. I swear I remember the heater stuff coming on when I hit "remote start" in previous Ford's. I know the seats were nice and warm when I got into the car. Now, they only come on after I hit the start button. Am I missing comething?

Thanks!

Remote Start Settings

  1. From the settings menu, press Vehicle. See Center Display.

  1. Press Remote Start Setup.
Switching Climate Control Auto Mode On and Off
  1. Press Climate Control.

  1. Press Auto or Last Setting.
Note: If you switch the auto mode on, the system attempts to heat or cool the interior to 72 °F (22 °C). When you switch the vehicle on, the climate control system returns to the last used settings.
Note: If you switch the last settings on, the system remembers the last used settings.
Heated Seat Settings
  1. Press Seats.

  1. Press Auto or Off.
Note: If you switch the heated seat settings on, the heated seats turn on during cold weather.
Note: You cannot adjust the heated seat settings when you remotely start your vehicle.
Heated Steering Wheel Settings

  1. Press Seats and Steering Wheel.

  1. Press Auto or Off.
Note: If you switch the heated steering wheel settings on, the heated steering wheel turns on during cold weather.
Note: You cannot adjust the heated steering wheel settings when you remotely start your vehicle.

Not sure what that last note means.

Yuppa - that was the first thing I did. Problem is it doesn't kick in until I start the car manually. The remote start just starts the car remotely but doesn't turn on the seats, etc. until I hit the start button while it is running. I know the settings are selected because if I shut off the car with the seat and steering heater off at night, it kicks on in the morning when it is cold overnight. Oh well...

2025 here, remote start set to auto. It has been in the low 40s here the last two mornings. Did a remote start while putting on my shoes. Three mins later get in and it is toasty warm in the cabin, on the seat, and the wheel.

It works! I would like to apologize to everyone who jumped in to help. It was working this morning. The only difference was it was much colder than the few days before. Apparently, it simply was not cold enough to kick in the auto stuff during Remote Start. Thanks!
