You and I are in about the same boat.
I got the wrench around the same mileage as you. And I picked mine up at the end of August.
I have an appt Monday for another issue (O2 sensor) at dealer.
My wrench light did go away after sitting in the garage for two days.
Anybody else have a CEL regarding exhaust system? I've gotten two.

I have an appointment this week. Service Advisor said they had another one in yesterday with same problem and the fix is a software flash for that module. Not surprising and we should all see a recall soon, I’m sure.

I have the same issue on my ST. And it happened on dec 3rd and 4th. Could it have something to do with the cold? Both times the message came up was in the morning time with temperatures in the 20s. Since the message, I inflated my tires to the recommended cold PSI. Since then it was started 5 times and on the 5 time the message came back.

message came on this morning for me. Owner for 2 months & 3,200 miles. After turning truck off for about 3 hours, i returned and no notification message on dash.

Cold morning here. Remote started vehicle.
I cant get to the dealership til next week and i have a road trip starting tomorrow

A full-redesign or all-new platform is different than a mid-cycle refresh. The engines, transmissions, chassis, suspension, major hardware, etc. are all carry-over since 2020. Most of the changes on the 2025 are cosmetic, i.e. new front and rear fascia, wheels, interior and infotainment systems. None of the mechanical design has really changed. Same horsepower and specs across all trim levels.
I was saying is was an full refresh, not a full redesign. The lower trims received a completely new 2.3L, and the 3.0L was updated with different turbos, and some other little things. The engine control modules are different as are most of the other electronics. The basic mechanics may be semi-similar, but a lot of the other important electronic parts has changed.

I had the same thought about cold weather being a factor. I had to park outside the garage for a few days and it started right after that. Doesn't seem to happen after I've warmed it up a bit and started it again. I'll report back after my appointment on the 11th.

Where do you get the info about the 2.3L being all new and the 3.0L getting new turbos. All I've seen for changes are a face lift and some interior changes. Nothing about the mechanical being changed.

Ford just can't get it right and I'm not making apologies for them any more. Their lack of durability and quality control on this vehicle is an embarrassment. I've been a Ford owner for 40 years and NEVER have I had so many major components replaced under or out of warranty in just 5 years. Previous Fords I had for 8-10 years back in the 80s and 90s and never did an axle, differential or powertrain component fail in under 55K miles.

Well the 2025s are a full refresh so I don’t understand why people think there won’t be problems, especially with Ford’s quality control Do agree though, just had the tranny replaced on my car, and the whole month it was gone I missed it more, just sucks that’s how it has to be.

Freakin TOTALLY AGREE. I'm so tired of issue after issue after issue with new Ford vehicles.

I just got back from the Dealer and they said they found code P0929 and Performed SSM 53116 Software update on Gear Shift Module (GSM). We'll see how things go. Prior to going to the dealer this morning the wrench did not come up. I did notice the temperature this morning was in the 40s, way warmer than times that the wrench was coming up. So I’m still wondering if the cold has any part in this issue.

After getting back in my truck on Wednesday, the wrench hasn’t reappeared (thank god, fingers crossed). I also called a couple dealerships about the issue and they cant get me in quickly. Once they do, they have to run diagnostics and all this other stuff and its only done by the transmission team/department.

It's been LOVE and HATE since day one for me! I had my 5 year anniversary yesterday!

I had this happen on my 25 ST and it needed a software update on the GSM. There’s a TSB for it. So far this has fixed it for me.

People please get a OBD code reader like OBDlink. I keep the ZFG tune device that also reads and can reset codes in my ST for just in case I get wrenched. Used it once when i got on her and forgot to take off traction control resulting in the vehicle dropping power at WOT causing an overboost. No big deal just cleared the code and all good.

Clearing codes does not 'fix' any underlying issue (if there is one), i.e., an ECU reflash/update, etc.

All, to close the loop on this issue for others, the affected code is P0929 with an associated SSM53118 via OASIS. The fix is a reprogrammed GSM with FDRS as per the SSM.
