Hey Gang,

Wayne here. My very first Ford and decided to go with the 2025 ST. Coming from a Gensus G80, I’m loving the power and performance so far.

Any recommendations regarding break-in period? First oil change, inspection etc. also, I noticed that my wheel well liner was sagging a bit and running against the tire. Anyone else experience this? Wondering if I should bring it up to the dealership.

Looking forward to learning more about this beast and signing my up for the ST driving experience whenever I get my packet.

No need for any break in period on these cars, it’s a little superstitious but I did an oil change at 1k miles just for the extra peace of mind. The wheel liner shouldn’t be sagging and rubbing the tire at all, I’d bring it up with you’re dealer, might just be a broken tab or loose tab. Congrats and welcome to the forum!

Hello and welcome. I have one just like your black all-wheel-drive sunroof of course I love mine too and you should not have that problem with the wheel. Well situation. Definitely take that to the dealer get that squared away oil change. I’ve got a little over 2600 miles on mine so far I’ve had it since November 2. On the oil change, I’m just going by recommendation for the moment looks like they’re talking about maybe at a 10,000 mile mark, judging by the percentage that the FordPass app is saying I have left, you should have that app I hope since you got a new car hopefully they tuned you in on that. Definitely enjoy but get that wheel well squared away.

10k miles is way to long between oil changes.

Copy that and I’ve never heard of it myself. I was just doing the math on what they were saying on the FordPass app against my mileage. I will definitely be looking into it. Don’t worry…not gonna mess up my ST,

Agree I get my oil changed and tires rotated every 5,000 miles.

Hey bro. Yeah, I am hoping in there to pick up the spare key and all weather floor mats I negotiated in the deal. I’ll bring up the wheel well liner. I’m surprised that it is that cloth like material.

tye squared me away on the ford pass. I was confused that it says the first service is 10k miles. Like that seems like way too many miles. I know they are running synthetic but it should be more like 7500. I’ll get it done early just because. I’m digging blue cruis. Not sure that I’ll sign up after the trial period tho.

7500 miles is still too long, 5k miles or 6 months is the best way to do it.

For what it’s worth here is the online 2025 Explorer owners manual I have a bookmark on my iPhone so I can look things up once in a while. If I need to definitely look up the maintenance it will tell you everything about the oil change situation with some great variables that everyone here and me included probably do not recommend like the 10,000 mile thing but they also talk about 5000 miles so play safe here’s that link
