Key Fob Question

Mine does that occasionally. I consider it a glitch, but to minimize the number of occurrences I replace the battery with a fresh one. Seems to do the job.
These vehicles and all modern vehicles are so laiden with electronics that, along with the amount of RF interference around us all the time, it’s a f**king wonder these things work as reasonably well as often as they do. That said, this is the most electronically glitchy vehicle I’ve ever laid my hands on.

You need a OBD Link EX (Cost about $40) and a lap top computer. You also need to apply and download the Forscan program which you can get for two months free. I'm not that computer savvy. If I can do it anybody can. Hopefully somebody on the forum will jump in here that is more computer and forscan savvy than me and give you some advice.

I hate the keyless entry and wish I could disable it on my 2025. Every time I go to the car I unlock it with the key because that's what I like to do and as soon as I grab the handle I get all the noises Big Clunk, Chunk, buzz ding, screen start up etc. etc... so annoying, even if I'm just going back for 2 seconds to get my glasses I left in there. LOL this car makes so much clunking, buzzing, moving noises etc.. Than any other car I have ever had.

The fob and smart key feature is designed to never leave your pocket. Simply touch the door handle and it unlocks. Then you get in, push the button to start! BRILLIANT! After you park, push button to stop, get out, touch the lock symbol on the door handle and walk away! I've had these features for 10 years and frankly love Ford/Lincoln's version. I've driven many lesser rental cars from Toyota, Chevy and others and Ford's works way better. Just try one of the competitors and you'll see what I mean... I have many other mechanical and reliability issues to complain about the past 5 years but Smart Key, keyless entry and start are certainly NOT something to complain about. If you don't like these things on a loaded $60K vehicle then I don't know what to tell you. There are many cheaper and "easier" to live with low-tech cars on the used and even new car market. There may be a learning curve that's different for different people. I'm almost 56 and have no problem learning new habits/procedures. It just takes a few weeks maybe a month for it to become second nature. Maybe I just love technology and improvements especially in the automotive sphere and always embrace them. I use the parallel park assist every time and have used it for 10 years on my last 2 vehicles. Since Ford has discontinued this I may look elsewhere for my next new car.

I will never leave the fob in the vehicle unless I was swimming in the ocean and didn't want to leave the key on the sand. That's when I use the number pad on the door. Also, this vehicle has a known flaw that the touch pad on the door sometimes goes to sleep. If that happens and the other fob is no where to be found, you're not going anywhere without a locksmith.
