Hey guys,

2nd attempt at posting this. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Bought my 2020 Explorer ST last month. I wasn't happy with any of the available solutions for a storage area for an AR.

This is what I came up with. Enjoy!

i am now over 18
i see now you did a pretty simple logical approach
it will slow down smash and grabs certainly
i may borrow some of your idea
thanks

Thank you! Yes! Please use my idea. The ideas out there are terrible. It's pretty solid! Hope I never have to find out if it'll hold. Luckily, it's a throw away rifle in the event of a smash and grab.

Your welcome. I went bigger. Removed third row seats and installed a lockable box above the spare for stereo and “stuff”. It is flat with a gas assisted lift top the width of the back. Lots of room for long cylindrical objects. Full width in back and covers from lift gate to second row. Also keep a bug out bag in there.

Its nice to see someone who is actually packing a First Aid kit along with their SHTF tool.. When I got rear ended in my Trackhawk I kept almost the same set up and it was a bit awkward telling the troopers that I need to retrieve me rifle from the back. Once we did all they wanted to talk about is the rifle and show it off while people are rubbernecking looking at me like they made a bust LOL.

Too funny. Part is necessity for me as I’m on blood thinners for life. Need clotting agent within range as I could quickly bleed to death in a minor traffic accident. And yes I was a Boy Scout in my youth and yes I have water and freeze dried food in my house

Only question I have is if shtf will gold be more valuable than lead and brass

Dang man, yea that is most def a necessity! Hahahha my dad is a Vietnam vet and super paranoid. When the Y2K scare happened he stocked up on so much canned goods, water, fuel and ammo it would put our local militia to shame. Hell if his house ever caught fire, they'd have to evacuate several blocks. lol I have a decent enough items in prep. Not as much as I would be entirely comfortable with, I could do better but its enough to get us out of dodge.

Yea good question. Water, food, medical supplies and brass would be the top currency depending on how bad everything is. Not much you can barter for with gold but the other stuff would be most sought after.

Thanks brother! Never know when you might need a tourniquet. I installed a EMP shield to the battery (snake oil, probably) lol. Geiger counter, air pump, tire plug kit, battery booster and more is inside the spare tire wheel.

Upgraded battery to AGM.

Just waiting on ZFG to give me the DMS tune.
I finished putting on these mods this week:

S&B Cold Air Intake
CVF stainless catted downpipes
Thermal 3" cat back exhaust w/ mid pipes
UPR Catch Can
Turbosmart BOV Kompact Dual Port
CV Fab Intercooler

I'm happy to share pictures if yall want to see.

Holy cow my guy! Well the faraday cage on the battery would protect the battery but the whole truck is vulnerable, computer on wheels. The Geiger counter could come in hand the way things are lookin and every thing else is a must.
