I'm assuming you dropped the wiper arm on the glass without a blade on it?

Did that once during my service tech years. Didn't make for a good time. Had to learn the hard way to always gently put the wiper arm back down lol.

Unfortunately, it slipped when I was taking the old wiper off

It slipped, but I should have put a towel on the glass

Ouch. Had a peck repaired on mine. Guy told me glad I don't have to have the windshield replaced. Getting the windshield out normally damages the side trim and that's a factory piece that is very expensive to replace.

Because of the cameras, sensors and other electronics in the overhead, I'd make sure whomever you choose to replace it better know how. I had a Safelite Auto replace the windshield in my '17 Escape. The overhead cover never stayed up, and the bluetooth range went to zero after the repair.

Safelite is replacing it but I told them it had to be OEM glass for that exact reason. They said that it wasn't a problem because they could get OEM glass available quicker.

$520 for the glass, not sure on labor, insurance is covering it.
