I've been known to put take out food in the passenger seat and turn the heater on to keep it warmer?! LOL
Exceptional idea! Could even use the back seats for that!!!

The fuel filler door does not lock (per the Caplees Fuel Lock thread). Boo!!! (n)(n)(n) :poop:
It does on our 2020 Platinum. Have not checked the ST yet though!

Just checked my 2020 ST. Even with the keys in my pocket as long as its locked the fuel door will not open.

I am apparently just to stupid to open the fuel door. They both DO not lock.

Not ST specific...

In the previous generation Explorer, it was nice that the owner's manual booklet had a shelf inside the glove box to keep stashed. I thought it was odd that the new generation glovebox had a shelf/slot on the door (back right), but no way to secure the booklet. Turns out there was a clip there up until January '20 production to hold the booklet in place so it's easy to keep the glovebox a bit more organized...

Did anyone find out if they sale this clip any where? I was giving the ok to take the one off of my 2020 ST but didn’t have the tool to remove it.

While washing the car, peered thru the front grill and saw the active grill shutters, open setting. Never had a car with this before. Read somewhere that it runs thru a self diagnostic upon start up. Will pay attention next time.

The intelligent cruise control is fun. I like how it'll steer the car for you, set your tolerance to the speed limit, and keep you a certain feet apart from the car in front of you. But I found the warning signal from the dashboard indicating your hands are not on the wheel shows up way too much and is annoying. This whole time, I thought it was hand placement on the steering wheel. But actually, you just have to 'jiggle the steering wheel left and right' to indicate you still have control. Not enough to turn the car but enough to stop the dashboard indicator warning. Simple solution but still annoying.
The one thing I like best about that (other than the feature itself) is that the vehicle shown in the distance section changes based on the drive mode your in. In Sport mode, it's a Mustang. In Tow mode, it's an F150. In Eco mode, I think it's a Fusion.

Fun little quirk.

That would be good to get on video. You got me looking around my grill now.

The police 2020 Explorer goes 2 MPH faster than you can. Heh..heh.. My son-in-law, a police officer, is anxious for their first one to arrive. We have a $50 bet that I'll beat him because his will be heavier when outfitted...we'll see.....

My wife tried to outrun one in her Trackhawk and within 5 mi she had an appointment to see the judge in court. Women.

BAMBI MODE

Had the dealer activate (deactivated Auto-Engine Stop too) through Forscan before I left for my roadtrip from TX-WA. Split second accurate auto high beams and automated driver assist will put you to sleep through Wyoming plains. Rarely activates in busy city roads, but when you get a minute of no incoming or cars in front it does what it does perfectly.

Hold the door unlock button down on the faub and the front windows are supposed to go down also. Per the 2021 catalog.

Doesn't the sunroof open too (if available)?

I’m also a cop, with an ST. But work gave us the hybrid versions. It’s like driving a go-cart

That's hilarious.

Aren't the new hybrids supposed be a 3.3L with more HP than the ST? Or an I missing something?

I have no idea. They drive terrible. Maybe I’m just use to the ST. But I hate hybrids and how they drive. We can’t chase anyway so why not save on gas lol

The 3.3‘s are naturally aspirated.

I believe they have more combined HP; electric motor and engine combined.[/QU

You'd think they would use that to an advantage over the ST.
