Got word from Blood Type Racing, those that did the custom job. They said it’s a FORD accessory! Now to find the Part #!

Ford Parts is not nailing anything down specifically.

When I look at other Explorers, I'm starting to think Blood Type Racing might have painted the original Skid Plate and possibly cut the 4 inlet holes to get a more defined/aggressive look. :cautious:

What do you all think?

That original pic is just an XLT front clip with the silver part cut open and blacked out. That’s not an ST front.

Reviving an old thread:

I have found two different skid plates that fit the Explorer Police Interceptor model. Can anyone confirm fitment on the 2023 Explorer ST?

1) Setina: https://setina.com/spec-your-vehicle/#skid_plate-tab (Choose 2023 ST, and click on Skid Plate- it looks like a one piece)

2) Pro-guard (looks like two separate places to be purchased individually): https://danasafetysupply.com/pro-gard-skid-plates-for-undercarriage-or-transmission/

Thanks!

Pro-Gard can fit more than one vehicle (Ford and Dodge) the Setina is for the Explorer only, better choice. Setina is a 2 piece design and covers more.

I contacted Setina to ask about fitment. They replied that they have never test fit it on a civilian model, but provided me the installation instructions. I am attaching them here in case there is anyone with enough knowledge of these vehicles (which I do not have) who can review and confirm fitment.

If anyone wants to buy, I found it here with free shipping (I have no affiliation with this vendor): https://www.valoroutfitters.com/shop-all-products

I've been trying to decide between the Setina plate or the factory Interceptor plate.

My thinking on this is that if the factory interceptor plate was adequate, Setina would not have bothered to make their own.

It arrived today. Dang the box weighs a ton. Now I’m a bit concerned about the added weight. Oh well, it’s still going on and hopefully won’t have a noticeable MPG penalty during normal day to day driving.

Yes the are heavy duty but now you will not have to worry about having the oil pan ever getting damaged from road debris.
