The one AFE above , purchased is a dry filter.
I was nervous about an oiled filter also.

Side note when you order from Advance Auto, if they offer it for in-store pickup you can do that and save the shipping charges as well. TRT30 is a common 30% off code that I use often when they are cheaper than my dealer cost haha.

I wonder what the cleaning/maintenance process is for the AFE filter. I know K&N has a 'cleaning' kit for theirs. But what is the process for the AFE one, if it exists?

The one I ordered is a dry filter , no oil.
My understanding is to use a mild soap and water to wash it and no air pressure , just rinse and dry.
At 30k miles.

Just got word from Advance Auto that they cancelled my AFE filter due to out of stock ..after a week.

they screwed up , price was below their cost.

Anyone try the AEM performance drop in air filter? It's also a dry filter and seems to be around $42 at Whoosh Motorsports.

Not sure if you ordered yet but when I proceed to checkout from ZFG they charge $15 for shipping for me. Unless you have a coupon code. I found it on Amazon if you have prime it ships free and only charges tax. Much cheaper for me that way and should be delivered within a couple days.

Man these old wives tales about oiled filters just won’t die. There could be issues with an over oiled filter and MAF sensors. That won’t be an issue on these things. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with using a high quality oiled filter.
