Clearly I should have created my own Build Thread but it's too daunting to go back and consolidate everything into one thread now lol.

These beauties arrived today. Also being installed today. Cannot wait to see what I can get out of these things. Thankfully I just dyno’d recently and will go back to the same place shortly so it will be a perfect before after.
Some snaps of them and of the deconstruction of the engine bay so far. Ford says it’s a 7 hour procedure but think Brett will cut that down.

Install done! Last night got some initial data logging and revisions. I need new spark plugs to take advantage of these things, so installing the NGK 95605's this weekend and will keep tweaking. Didn't want to push too hard without them so this is very preliminary but still wanted to share.

As it is currently I'm getting:
Turbo airflow at 64 lbs/min (56 lbs/min before turbos)
Boost 24/25 psi (18/19 psi before turbos)
The Whipple intercooler is doing a great job. Last night it was 65 degrees and at the beginning of the log the IAT was 65 and throughout a 3rd gear pull it lowered to 60 degrees and never went above that throughout any of the runs.

Spark plugs install and more revisions this weekend and then dyno on Wednesday.

Also throwing on Conti DWS06 Plus tomorrow (295/45/20) and looking forward to increased traction so I can try some new Dragy runs soon.

What kind of wheels do you have? I've been thinking about going to 20's if I do aftermarket wheels. Lighter weight and a little more sidewall for these MI roads.

Exactly! These damn MI roads. That's exactly why I'm doing 20 - I have 22's on our X7 but it has air suspension and you can't feel them. I'm sponsored by TSW so I always go with their brands. There are lighter weight options but their rotary forged selection is nice. My winter setup is 20x9 et20 TSW Turbina with 275/50/20 Vredestein WIntrac Pro and my summer/all season setup is 20x10.5 et32 TSW Nord with 295/45/20 Conti DWS06 Plus. The TSW Nord are 26lbs each. I'm putting them on tomorrow afternoon.

Kudos for all your hard work and thanks for keeping us updated. I have followed this thread with interest, but in the interest of keeping your engine together, I hope you'll take care....for these reasons:

From what you have posted, I'm concerned about you doing a lot of "pulls" before you get tuning on the dyno. You now have a much freer flow turbine than before- that is reflected in your boost numbers (24/25 psi). This means the wastegate duty cycles are out of range for the new turbos resulting in higher PSI numbers. That's a danger as you might be reaching a limit for for correction maps for fuel trim (O2 feedback) and spark advance (detonation sensor feeback) MAY not be able to correct for the higher flow and pressure numbers. A rule of thumb we used to use was 10hp / 1 lb/min airflow. So you've gained approximately 80 hp with no tuning correction. Are you seeing any detonation activity and have you looked at fuel trim maps?

Just trying to keep you, as a pioneer, free from arrows in the back!

Thanks for the reply! I wasn’t very clear above. I’m working with a tuner and already had revisions. After we installed turbos we did a light pull 2500-5500 and kept increasing from there. About 7 revisions deep so far. Waiting for spark plugs to continue!

Excellent! From the thread I didn't think you had changed tunes. Are you still planning on staying 93 octane?

Generally yes. Am I contemplating fuel pump/injectors for occasional e85 fun. Perhaps.

Here come the new coils. Funny the OEM plugs are branded Ford but say Japan N0078 and Google tells me that is NGK.

How long did it take Brett to do the turbo swap??? My mechanic told me the passenger side is tough lol. He told me he would drop the motor if he had to do it again

The Ford list time is 7 hours, they did closer to 5 I think. I don’t know all the details but they did it a different way - told me they came right out the front.

Time to check my lottery tickets so i can do these mods. 3.68 0-60 right out of the gate on 93 gas. Absolutely Mouthwatering!

Very nice times on 93 octane from a nearly two and a half ton grocery-getter with three rows of seating and a 3 liter engine! Well done.

I'm so jealous.
Nothing special about me! Getting better at launches that’s about all I add to the equation. Just gotta do the same mods :)
