LOVED IT! Wasn't exactly like my 1967 Chevelle SS w/ 3/4 race cam from early 70's, BUT I'm in love!!!

Comfortable, great tech, and sufficiently powered. I took it around some twisties, a few acceleration passes and was ready to buy. What I didn’t like was the sloppy/slow shifting in normal mode. But hell, it’s an SUV, it’s carrying butts and groceries.

For comparative purposes, I was coming from a APR Stage II+ tuned B8 Audi A4.

Loved it once I got my computer science degree to figure out all the features to operate it.. Long gone are the turn the key and go days but love the handling and power. So different and improved from my previous Explorers ('93 XLT, 2005 XLT, 2014 Sport).

The sound in Sport mode had me in big smiles. But then I recall it was coming from the speakers. Still love the drive. Doesn't feel like climbing into an SUV but a (8-inch ground clearance) sports car.

"not quite my Hellcat" lol

I still enjoy it though, have a livernois tune on the way which should increase my smiles a bit.

Sales guy said "Quit going easy on the gas." A few seconds later I was sold.

Not my first initial thought but def something I said to myself during the test drive:

 "The stock exhaust actually sounds pretty good, oh wait that's just fake noise being pumped into the audio system" :(

Disappointed with the handling and acceleration. But I was coming from a much smaller BMW crossover. I quickly have come to terms with the change and appreciate it's qualities considering it's a relatively large 3 row SUV.

Got in, adjusted the seat and mirrors, cranked up, switched to Sport mode and drove away. The further I went the bigger my smile was! I haven’t owned anything close to this in 35 years.

My first reaction is that they took all the things I hated about my 2017 Ex sport and fixed them.
I knew within the block that I'd be trading the 2017 in.
That being said, the stock ST is down a fair bit in power to my ex sport and SSI's 3 bar 93 octane tune.

Took the one I ultimately bought for a spin. I immediately noticed how much more comfortable the seats were compared to my 17 XLT. Started it up and the sales rep put it into Sport Mode...I was sold!
