Is there a gear indicator in this thing? Or am I spoiled by my lowly F-150 XLT?

Depends what mode you're in. If you're in Sport mode, the gear number will show inside the digital tachometer. I think this is true for Tow/Haul mode as well, and it may be true for the offroad mode(s), which I've never touched. If you're in Normal or Eco mode, it will only show what gear you're in if you try up/downshifting with the paddle shifters.

Mine does not show the gear indicator in Sport Mode. It of course does show in manual mode. @joeclark38 would you mind taking picture of yours?

It'll show if you are in manual shift mode or if you use the paddle shifters. Some tunes will show the gear all the time.

Sorry, I think you're right. It only shows sport mode right after shifting. I just happen to be a little shift-happy in sport mode :)
