Broken lumbar bucket!!!

My brand new car is in the shop for almost a month out of 2 months owning it. The lumber bucket was broken and was making clicking sounds. Ford sent wrong parts 5 different times. This is not acceptable it made open a buy back case. I am not sure if it’s going to work but at this time I don’t want this car back as I am not sure what’s waiting for me in the near future. Any one else have the same issue?

I swear all you do here is cry. Get the car back, sell it and go buy some other brand. Please.

That’s exactly what I’m doing. Do you see how many complaints this car gets. I wish people would read this forum before pulling a trigger. Nothing but a headache….

I remember when I lived in New Jersey (born and raised) we weren't whiny, crying like children we were straight forward and delt with the problem head on and didn't back down. Such is the world nowadays. Maybe he is a Philly or NY important.

A bucket full of lumber? Maybe he meant the lumbar portion of his bucket seat is broken?

if the lumbar in my seats broke I wouldnt know it. Always keep them empty. Only time they ever get exercised is when I use the massage function which isnt that often.

Hey, he corrected "lumber" to "lumbar" in his thread! Now it makes much more sense!

Nope, and I’m a fat bastard too so you’d think it would.

I mean starting a buy back for a seat accessory seems a little insane. GL with that though..... I agree with Unbroken, get it back and sell it if a massage feature for your seat is truly a deal breaker in your overall satisfaction.

FWIW, my 2019 TOYOTA RAV4 Hybrid Limited has had 2 recalls so far:

1) Replaced the Fuel Tank due to a design flaw that prevented you from filling it up to capacity
2) Later recall - Replaced the Fuel Pump because a design flaw the pressure was too low and would sometimes cause the car to stall from fuel starvation (I didn't experience this thankfully).

One of my previous TOYOTA Highlander (2011) had a recall to Replace the Entire Rear Hatch due to a design flaw that could cause it to open unintentionally. Also got 2 flat tires over time due to carpy OEM Toyo tires.

Another previous TOYOTA Highlander (2017) had a recall (forgot the reason) that it was in the shop for a week.
Also got 2 flat tires (AGAIN) in less than 3500 miles due to carpy OEM Toyo tires replaced them at 3500 miles with goodyears.

Almost forgot, a new Mercedes Benz ML430 I had them do a buyback due to excessive vibration at highway speeds. They said the driveshaft(s) were defective so I said they could have it back :)

My ST I have brought it in for a few 'fit and finish' issues, but nothing mechanical thus far and the dealer fixed them promptly. No rattles or squeaks thus far either, actually seems much more 'solid' than any of the Toyotas.

My point is that I have never had the experience of purchasing a new car that didn't have some 'gremlins' to work through.

I kept getting flat tires with my 2011 Highlander, the tires must have been made from paper mache! The hybrid computer crapped out, and one of the cells in the battery pack died & disabled the entire battery pack! Switched to a 2016 Explorer Sport in 2015 as soon as that hunk of crap was paid off.

Stupid Ford is buying a car back!!!! Can’t fix the seat. It says it all about quality of the entire vehicle! No more comments. Enjoy your lemon Fords.

I'm glad you found your peace. Too bad you're still whining on the way out.

Let’s be clear, there is NO way ford is buying a ST back over a seat! Not in this short a time.

They are buying it back because they don’t want to hear from you anymore!

Exactly what I was thinking…buy it back just to get this crying pos out the door forever. That’s if it’s actually happening…zero chance a buy back is approved for a seat.

They are hard on you man, all in good fun. Yeah, right now CarMax and Vroom offered me what I paid for my 2020 ST, but not really looking to get rid of it. Some dealers selling for thousands over sticker, not a chance. So with buyback they will just put back on the lot and resell.
