Any 2022's Autostop Eliminated and/or FORScan'd yet

Curious if anyone has installed the Autostop Eliminator and/or Made any changes with the Forscan on a 22 yet? The AutoStop ordered is for the 2020-21 model year. In theory, if ford didn't change anything from 21-22 everything should work no problem, but that is rarely the case. Already have a 3yr license and OBDLink Ex cable. Just wondering if anyone has messed with either yet while we sit back and wait for delivery.

I haven’t heard of anyone doing it yet. I’m almost positive the 21 methods would work though.
I thought I’d be jumping on this procedure but I haven’t found the auto start stop to bothersome yet.

I have the Eliminator in my F150 and it will be one of the first things I do when my 2022 ST shows up.

Just curious, why the strong dislike for it? It’s a common feeling just wondering.

I think it's an unsafe feature. I tried to pull out into heavy traffic once and my truck wasn't even running. Not a good feeling.

Yeah I can see that. So did it fail to start altogether or did it just take too long to start?

also if you angle the steering wheel even the slightest bit, it won’t activate the feature.

I purchased the auto stop eliminator back before I ordered my 22 ST. I will install it, but first wanted to experiment with the feature to get a better feel for it. Keeping in mind the feature is already disabled when in Sport mode (also disabled in Tow/Haul, Trail, and Deep Snow/Sand modes).

If you get a ZFG tune, auto-stop gets shut off as part of the tune.

So does 5 star tuning, but they ask if you want it turned off. I declined, because I have an autostop eliminator.

Well, I very quickly became tired of the auto-stop "feature" (less than a week), so I installed the auto stop eliminator today. I am pleased to say it works just as advertised. So it does work on 2022 models.

When my wife first got her edge ST, she didn't make it 24 hrs before she was begging me to get rid of that stupid autostop feature.

Forgive my ignorance, I did a quick search but didn’t immediately find it. Do you have a link to the eliminator?

It's a little bit more than being bothersome or an annoyance for me. Even though, I do find A/S/S extremely annoying...Besides the delay waiting for the engine to start, then throttle to respond trying to pull out or avoid an accident it isn't nice to the turbo's.

The impeller in the turbo's spin 60,000-180k+ rpm depending driving conditions and load. The impeller shaft requires oil supply for lubrication which is generated by the oil pump when the engine is running. When the engine shuts off, oil supply stops.

So, when you are jetting stop light to stop light or driving it hard the suddenly stop, the impeller rpm's and heat are usually much higher trying to slow/cool down...Then the engine shuts off, oil supply stops, oil cooks, bearings/bushings fail...
It's also hard on the wideband oxygen sensors in the exhaust unless, technology has changed, generally A/S/S can attribute to premature failure on several parts. Turbo vehicles need to idle for a little while after they are driven hard to allow the cooling effect to take place in the turbo and allow the impellers to slow down. This is probably why it is disabled in sport mode and I may have gone a little too technical

It never is a good feeling for me either even though its only a slight delay before restart.

You know there's a button you can press right? Takes me about 1/2 second- and that's only when I somehow forget to press it at startup. I just don't understand how this is so difficult? But, hey, if spending an extra $100 is worth it, go for it. I suppose pressing the brake pedal, letting off the accelerator, keeping hands on the steering wheel are also burdensome. Have you heard of Ersatz Brothers "TAXI" option?

Yeah, I think he knows about the button. I too don’t like this feature. The most harm on an engine is done at start up so why multiply that 10-20 times per trip. And like UpinBst said, it’s even worse for turbos. I did the Eliminator and I’d do it again too. Plus it’s gay LOL!
