Just discovered this on the back of the center console. Could have missed seeing it on previous year models, or is it the replacement for the now deleted floor console for the captain chairs. I have the bench seat so I was not concerned about that deletion since the bench has a fold down armrest with cup holders.

I definitely don't have them in my 21. It's just an open cubby.

I thought that was what I remembered when checking the previous years. So I would say it is definitely the replacement for the deleted floor console. Should be helpful for those with captain chairs on their 2022. I think it is also useful for bench seat applications.

Yeah new for 22. Nice replacement to get rid of the 2nd row center console.

Yep, definitely new for 22. Also have a bench seat on my 20 and its open space there.

My 18 Sport had very similar ones, they were pretty useful especially if I had 3 passengers. Would be nice if we can add the bracket.

That back panel just pulls off. Super easy. Looks like it would just be a matter of getting the updated rear panel and swapping them out.

Here is the diagram from Ford parts. The back of the center console shows a hole and the cup holder piece goes into it. I don't know if the panel always had the hole and the cubby that's in my 21 snaps into the panel. I'll have to check. I think this is whats happening as the rear panel is listed for 2020 up. The site could be wrong. I'l have to check mine and see what it looks like.
