The regular GT500 is rated at 760-horsepower and doesn’t slouch in any performance category. It's probably for the best, then, that Shelby retains the GT500's seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. That also means that Hertz will be renting a 900-horsepower GT500-H that puts all its grunt out through the rear wheels. Beginners might want to start with something more, well, civilized.

Not so easy these days to swap out the engine with your straight 6 before returning it..

These will likely be rented for a couple hundred miles then sold at auction for crazy big money.

But imagine what that couple hundred miles was like. I know I have mercilessly flogged most rentals and I have had hundreds in my life. Never EVER buy a used car from a rental agency.

Overall I agree, but these are track built race cars, they should handle it no problem. Also, these are super expensinsive like over 1000 a day. People spending that much tend to be a bit more cautious. You're not te ting them to Hoony McHoonigan the 26 year old vape boy, ya know?
