I never said anything about Steeda not meeting my expectations for my wife's Explorer.....hell i never even considered them for the Explorer . I only know that the Steeda springs wouldn't lower the vehicle enough to MY liking . I said that Steeda , if only lowering .5" , will not be worth the money because you will never notice the drop on this platform.......on a car , yes !

What are you doing with the vehicle that you need to enhance the handling ?

Who are you to say that my ideas will f**k up my suspension geometry for vanity ? Do you really think that H&R has been in this business this long because they create a product that totally screws up OEM specs . I guess if they offered a spring that lowers 4" / 4.5" i could see your point .

Like you said , it's not a track toy , so why worry about the OEM spec over the "vanity" ? If the "factory engineering" from Ford Racing is good enough , why even consider springs ?[/Qu
You need to chill...

After belonging to FerrariChat for so long , it has turned me defensive because everyone critiques every modification you do to a Ferrari....and after having a lowered , custom wheels , carbon spoiler and complete color change paint job on a Boost Logic twin turbo 360 , you begin to think everyone turns their nose up to every mod you do :D

No worries, it takes a while to figure people out on a new message board.

I went too low with my 2005 explorer and had a bad experince.

At least on the mustang boards, everyone sees mustangs as a blank canvass or a good starting point, things can still get a bit heated but that's just the internet in general.

Definitely not enough drop for my tastes and I can’t figure out why they did linear springs instead of progressive.

Drop is decent but not enough for me. Wonder why they did an over all drop and not staggered.

Looks like the HR springs will be right on target for me. They come in Monday . I’ll be camping with the family this weekend out at the Texas Frio river! Ill set up an appointment for install probably Tuesday. Stay tuned. 305/40/22 will help with the extra gap also.

Well UNBROKEN might do 315. If that works I may break my rules and do 35 series. Lol again this is “ supposed” to be my wife’s suv. Lol

I'll take a linear spring over a progressive. I'll trade feeling the odd expansion joint to get more predictable response.

listening to both @BAD430BENZ & @UNBROKEN talk about their set up's and eager to see both of your new shoes seated gentleman.... I've done a fair share to my ST already and I've been on the fence about new rims & tires since day 1. After reading the info. you both shared on this thread though I think I just might make it my next priority... but first comes the new Whipple intercooler that should be installed next weekend (finger crossed).
What was the cost for the install of the intercooler if I may ask? 3-4 hour install?

My springs finally showed up today from the factory...UPS in Belgium is not the same as in the states.....

Should be able to post pics on Monday!
Throw up some pics of the springs themselves. I’m curious what the ends look like.

Seems like this board is about the same as the vehicle being a blank canvas
Looks factory with a Steeda banner in the background
