Best tune for 2020 Ford Explorer ST

Are there states that do no have 93 Octane? I live near Washington DC. VA, MD, & DC all have 93 Octane.

Second Question: If you can only go up, it may be safer (if traveling often) to stick with a tune for 91. But will I get more Horsepower/Torque from a 93 tune?
Plenty is states only have up to 91. Yes, you will get a little more power out of 93. As far as traveling...I just keep a couple of bottles of Boostane with me when I know I’m headed into a 91 only state.

I haven't bought his tune yet, but I'm going with ZFG racing. Mostly because of his previous comment about the possibility of reducing the torque in 1st and 2nd gears if I so chose. It sounds like you, JShaffer, are interested in fine tuning your tune, and while I'm not 100% sure, it would seem to me that ZFG Racing is the tune for you.

Great idea. So you just pour the whole bottle of boost in when you fill up? I’m getting ready to get the Palm Beach Dyno 93 tune with the octane boost as well.

I need to look at ZFG again. Tough choice. I liked 5Star too.

If you're using the pro kind I think a whole bottle takes you up pretty high.

I'm tuned with livernois and I have a case of boostane and I add about 1/3-1/2 of a bottle with a fill up of 93 and by my (probably incorrect calculation) that gets me to 100ish octane.

So I guess the purpose of reducing torque in first and second gear would be to minimize wheel spin and driveshaft damage. I think I would want the torque and just control it with my foot during takeoff. Don’t plan on taking this to the dragstrip but want to smoke the Beamers when merging onto the Audubon.

I was getting ready to place my order today with Palm Beach Dyno but going back to the drawing board. I think they all are very good but I want to make sure I find one tuner and stick with them the entire time.

Of course I would like you to pick me, but regardless of that you should consider the device that you are going with. If you plan on doing a lot of modifications over time the n gauge is not the best advice for that. The data logging ability of the engage just isn't there, when I'm doing a custom tune on the St or pretty much any EcoBoost the customer is data logging 80 + channels of data. The most you can record with the n gauge is 25 and it is missing a lot of the important EcoBoost specific parameters. It's great for loading an off-the-shelf tune but if you want something custom the RTD or mpvi2 is the way to go.
